Allendale, N.J. — Azarian Realty Co. has fully leased Allendale Town Center, a 90,000-square-foot shopping center located in Allendale. Philly Pretzel Factory recently signed a 1,254-square-foot lease at the property, bringing the center to full occupancy. Kevin Pelio of Azarian represented both the tenant and landlord in the leasing negotiations. Other tenants include AM/PM Urgent Care, Bergen County Pediatric Dentistry and Primo Hoagies. Azarian is the exclusive leasing agent for the center.

Wilmington, N.C. — CenterSquare has purchased The Forum, a 105,785-square-foot retail center located in Wilmington. The property was fully leased at the time of sale. Tenants include Dunkin’ Donuts, Jimmy John’s, Club Pilates, UPS, Chop’t, Bento Box, True Blue Butcher and Osteria Cicchetti.
Washington, D.C. — The National Retail Federation (NRF) has acquired the Reverse Logistics Association (RLA), a global trade association for the returns and reverse industry. “Retailers understand the importance of sustainability practices and the environmental, economic, social and consumer benefits that accompany them,” says Matthew Shay, president and chief executive officer of the NRF. “RLA’s reverse logistics expertise will help our members to ‘close the loop’ and accelerate the emergence of the circular economy,” he adds. The circular economy constitutes the efforts to reuse or recycle useful products, materials and resources.
Santee, Calif. — Macy’s has signed a 30,000-square-foot lease at Santee Trolley Square in Santee, with plans to open one of the brand’s new small-format stores at the property. Brian Quinn and Bryan Cunningham of JLL secured the lease on behalf of the landlord, Kimco Realty Corp. Dave Hagglund and Andrew Roth of CBRE represented Macy’s in the negotiations. The store is scheduled to open in November 2023.
Four Tenants Sign Leases Totaling 12,531 Square Feet at The Shops at Montebello in Metro Los Angeles
Montebello, Calif. — Four tenants have signed leases totaling 12,531 square feet at The Shops at Montebello, a retail center located in Montebello, roughly 10 miles outside Los Angeles. Claw Daddy has opened a 1,076-square-foot arcade at the property, and MINISO has opened a 5,503-square-foot store. Froyology and Joe’s Boots will also open in September and October, occupying 1,120 and 4,832 square feet, respectively.
The Picklr to Open 80 New Venues in 11 States
Kaysville, Utah — Utah-based indoor pickleball brand The Picklr will open 80 new venues across eleven states, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. The facilities will be opened in partnership with 13 new franchisees. “With seven corporate owned facilities, our first-mover advantage has undeniably led to a high level of interest from well capitalized candidates across the entire country,” says Scott Schubiger, chief growth officer of The Picklr.
Thousand Oaks, Calif. — Black Lion has purchased a retail center in Thousand Oaks for $8 million. Whole Foods Market anchors the 23,958-square-foot property, which was 55 percent occupied at the time of acquisition. The buyer plans to implement upgrades including a façade renovation, new roof and parking lot, as well as rebrand the property. Dan Tyner of JLL represented both the buyer and undisclosed seller in the transaction.
Dallas — Three new tenants have signed leases at Hillside Village, a retail center located in Dallas. Modern Animal has opened a veterinary clinic at the property. JuiceLand and Sephora will also open later this year and next year, respectively. Northwood Retail is the owner and landlord.
New York City — Fitness club 54D has opened a 7,000-square-foot gym in New York City. The gym will now occupy the ground floor of 125 West 25th Street, a 12-story building in Manhattan. Westbuilt Construction Managers and architecture firm THIRLWALL completed the $2.2 million renovation of the space. The project team also included Mija Architecture, Criterion Acoustics, NY Engineers and Stys Hospitality Initiative, the owner’s representative.
Ontario, Calif. — Left Coast Brewing Co. will open a 5,000-square-foot tasting room at The Collection, a 96,000-square-foot development currently underway in Ontario. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024, the outpost will mark the third in the country for the company.
