Walnut Creek, Calif. — Newmark has negotiated the sale of Midtown Plaza, a 24,867-square-foot retail center located in Walnut Creek. The property was fully leased at the time of sale to tenants including Galpao Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse and Premier Bath & Kitchen. Nicholas Bicardo, Rick Steffens and Cheyne Bloch of Newmark represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. L&B Realty Advisors represented the buyer, an institutional client.

Southampton, Pa. — Five Below will open a 9,000-square-foot store at Southampton Shopping Center in Southampton, roughly 25 miles outside Philadelphia. The center is owned by ShopOne Centers REIT. Scheduled to open later this year, the brand will take over a space previously occupied by Tuesday Morning. Other tenants at the property include Giant Food, Pet Supplies Plus, Fine Wines and Spirits, Citizen’s Bank and Massage Envy.

Crofton, Md. — Two new tenants will join the roster at Seven Oaks Shopping Center in Crofton. Jersey Mike’s and Bruster’s Ice Cream will occupy a 3,046-square-foot pad site at the property, which is anchored by Weis Markets. Brandon Howard of Divaris Real Estate represented the landlord in the lease negotiations.

Happy Valley, Ore. — CBRE has arranged the sale of a 146,888-square-foot property located in Happy Valley, a suburb of Portland. Formerly occupied by Sears, the building is physically attached to the adjacent Clackamas Town Center mall, which totals 1.4 million square feet. Dick’s Sporting Goods partially backfilled the property in 2019 and opened in 2020 following the departure of Sears in 2018. The remainder of the building, including two 15,000-square-foot ground-level spaces and a 64,000-square-foot upper-level space, remains vacant. Dublin, Ohio — The Wendy’s Co. has announced plans to open more than 200 new restaurants through 2024. The new restaurants will feature the brand’s Global Next Gen design, which features a dual-sided kitchen, self-order kiosks and a dedicated delivery pick-up window and parking spaces. “The Global Next Gen future-forward design unlocks 400 times the capacity for digital orders, accelerating the system’s digital growth,” says Abigail Pringle, president of international and chief development officer with the company.

Austin, Texas — A partnership between Ivy Cos. and 35 South Capital has acquired Casis Village, a 48,500-square-foot shopping center located in Austin. Randalls anchors the property, and other tenants include Tarrytown Pharmacy, Starbucks Coffee, Benchmark Bank, Estilo Boutique, Food Food and L Majors Jewelers. Dan Frey of Endeavor Real Estate Group represented the seller, the Bryant Family, which built the center in 1952. Rue Realty will lead leasing efforts at the property. Heritage Title was the title company for the transaction.

Lahaina, Hawaii — Pacific Retail Capital Partners (PRCP) has launched an effort to raise funds and awareness for those affected by the recent wildfires in Lahaina on the island of Maui. Dubbed #ExtendAloha, the campaign encourages donations to the DTL Foundation’s dedicated Maui Fire Relief Fund. PRCP manages Queen Ka’ahumanu Center on the island and has agreed to match the first $10,000 raised. Donations can be made at dtlfoundation.org/mauifire.

Fort Stockton, Texas — Partners Real Estate has arranged the sale of an 8,000-square-foot single-tenant property in Fort Stockton. Dollar General occupies the building. According to LoopNet Inc., the property was originally constructed in 1994. The buyer and seller were both undisclosed investment firms. Evan Altemus of Partners brokered the transaction.

San Jose, Calif. — YETI has opened a 5,420-square-foot store at Santana Row, a Federal Realty Investment Trust property located in San Jose. Offering outdoor gear and apparel, the retailer opened Aug. 17. Additionally, restaurants Urban Plates, Fitoor and Suspiro have signed leases at the property, with Urban Plates scheduled to open next month.
