Madison, Wis. — Whole Foods Market will open a new, 50,000-square-foot store in Madison on Dec. 13. This marks a relocation of the brand’s existing Madison store, which has been open since 1996. The store will anchor the 21-acre Madison Yards mixed-use development, which will also feature additional retail, restaurant and entertainment space surrounding a central green plaza. Products at the store will include more than 800 local items from the Midwest.

Mobile, Ala. — Topgolf has opened a new venue in Mobile, Alabama, marking the third in the state for the brand. Situated within McGowan Park Shopping Center, the venue features 60 outdoor, climate-controlled hitting bays across two levels, as well as a full-service restaurant, 22-foot video wall and more than 100 TVs. According to the company, Topgolf Mobile will employ roughly 200 associates and is the 95th outdoor Topgolf venue in the country.
Orlando, Fla. — A joint venture between SED Development LLC, JMA Ventures LLC and Machete Group Inc. has developed plans and renderings for a new mixed-use development in downtown Orlando. The project, dubbed the Orlando Sports + Entertainment District, will comprise 900,000 square feet situated on 8.5 acres adjacent to Amway Center, the home arena for the NBA’s Orlando Magic. Moon Bay, Calif. — Matthews Real Estate Investment Services has arranged the sale of Strawflower Village Shopping Center, a 78,940-square-foot retail center located in Moon Bay, approximately 30 miles south of San Francisco. A 33,000-square-foot Safeway anchors the center, which was 96 percent leased at the time of sale. Other tenants include T-Mobile, Chase Bank and US Bank. SJ Amoroso Properties Co. acquired the property from HMB Musich LLC for $34 million. Marko Buljan of Matthews represented the seller in the transaction. Tim Gilmartin of The Gilmartin Group represented the buyer.
Crescent City, Fla. — CrossMarc Services LLC has purchased Crescent City Plaza, a 47,945-square-foot shopping center located in Crescent City, for $2.7 million. Built in 1974 and remodeled in 2019, the property is leased to tenants including Save-A-Lot and Family Dollar. Situated on 7.6 acres, the center also features a parcel for future outparcel development. Jimmy and Leo Island Properties was the seller. CrossMarc Services will handle leasing and management at the property.
Marana, Ariz. — Gantry has arranged a $7.8 million permanent loan for the refinancing of a retail property located in Marana, roughly 20 miles outside Tucson. Comprising 26,387 square feet, the property is situated within the Shoppes at Continental Ranch and shadow anchors an independently owned Safeway building and four pad buildings. Tony Kaufmann and Alex Poulos of Gantry secured the 10-year financing on behalf of the borrower.
Hollywood, Calif. — DJM and Gaw Capital USA have opened Ovation Hollywood, a newly redeveloped, 475,000-square-foot retail center located in Hollywood. The partnership completed a three-year, $100 million renovation of the property, which was previously known as Hollywood & Highland. Redevelopments at the center began in 2020 and have included design by Gensler. New tenants at the property include Café de Leche, Tacos Neza, a Kylie Cosmetics pop-up shop, The Win-Dow, BOPOMOFO. The fourth level of the center has been converted into entertainment space and will feature comedy club Kookaburra Lounge.
Indianapolis — RH (NYSE: RH), a home furnishings retailer formerly operating as Restoration Hardware, has opened RH Indianapolis, The Gallery at DeHaan Estate. Located at 4501 N. Michigan Road, the 151-acre property houses a 60-room, Palladian-style villa that RH has repurposed as a unique showroom and dining destination. RH Indianapolis carries home furnishing collections from the company’s Interiors, Contemporaries, Modern and Outdoor catalogues.
