Retailers Pitch in to Aid in Coronavirus Efforts

As concerns about coronavirus (COVID-19) mount and the stock market is impacted, Shopping Center Business has compiled a number of retailers that are stepping in to aid in relief efforts.

Brooks Brothers

Brooks Brothers is converting its American factories to start producing 150,000 masks per day to help protect healthcare workers and others battling the spread of COVID-19.

Blenders Eyewear

Blenders Eyewear has repurposed a portion of its manufacturing to make safety goggles for health workers in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The company will donate 10,000 goggles to Southern California hospitals in San Diego and Los Angeles.

Nordstrom

Seattle-based Nordstrom is utilizing its team of tailors to create 100,000 masks which will be sent to partner Kaas Tailored to be sanitized then passed along to Providence Health & Services for distribution to Washington, Oregon, Texas and California.

Shine Distillery & Grill

Portland, Oregon-based Shine Distillery & Grill created its own hand sanitizer and passed it out for free to the community.

Apple

Apple announced it is matching employee contributions two-to-one to support COVID-19 response efforts locally, nationally and internationally.

Kroger

Beginning April 7, all Kroger stores will limit the number of people in each store to 50 percent of the international building code’s calculated capacity.

Target

Effective April 4, Target will monitor and meter store traffic, and provide face masks and gloves to all frontline team members in stores and distribution centers
