Three Retail Tenants Sign Leases at Ala Moana Center in Hawaii

Honolulu — Three new retail tenants have signed leases at Ala Moana Center, a 2.4 million-square-foot shopping center located in Honolulu. Footwear and apparel concept HOKA and watch retailer Panerai are both scheduled to open at the propery in May, with Cat Café Moff opening in June. Other recent tenant openings at the center include Canada Goose, Body Balance, KaiAloha Supply, Ringer Hut, Sugar Factory American Brasserie and Sweet As. Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy’s and Target anchor the property, which was originally developed in 1959.

Three Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Concepts to Open at Lakeside Shopping Center in Metro New Orleans

Metairie, La.— Three new tenants, all divisions of Abercrombie & Fitch Co., will open at Lakeside Shopping Center, a 1.2 million-square-foot retail center located in Metairie, roughly eight miles outside downtown New Orleans. Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie kids and Hollister Co. are scheduled to open at the property this summer. The stores will feature updated prototype formats for the respective brands. Abercrombie & Fitch Co. operates more than 750 stores under these banners throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Tom Thumb to Open Store Within $120 Million Gateway Park Development in Texas

Sunnyvale, Texas — Tom Thumb will open a store in Sunnyvale, marking the “first major grocery store” in the area, according to the Town of Sunnyvale. Scheduled to open in late 2025, the grocer will join Gateway Park, a $124 million development that spans 240,000 square feet and features additional retail and restaurant space, as well as athletic facilities. The Sunnyvale Town Council has approved a $3 million economic incentive for the store’s development.

Whole Foods Signs 7,000-Square-Foot Lease Expansion at River Forest Town Center in Metro Chicago

River Forest, Ill. — Whole Foods Market has signed a long-term lease renewal and expansion at River Forest Town Center in River Forest, approximately 11 miles outside downtown Chicago. In addition to implementing a full remodel, Whole Foods will take over a 7,000-square-foot space formerly occupied by Rally House. Dick Spinell of Mid-America Asset Management and Scott Stefanik of Midwest Commercial Realty arranged the lease. This year marks the 30-year anniversary of Whole Food’s opening at the property.

Petaluma, Calif. — Clothing, jewelry, home décor and gift boutique Bella has signed a 1,500-square-foot lease at East Washington Place, a shopping center located in Petaluma, roughly 40 miles outside San Francisco. Other tenants at the property — which totals 343,000 square feet — include Dick’s Sporting Goods, Chipotle Mexican Grill, HomeGoods, Ulta Beauty, Target, T.J. Maxx and BevMo!

Colonie, N.Y. — Three new tenants have signed leases at Northway Mall, a 480,000-square-foot retail center located in Colonie. Mattress Firm, Mission BBQ and Club Pilates have opened at the property, occupying 4,745; 4,329; and 1,846 square feet, respectively, in a space formerly occupied by Petco. Target and Lowes anchor Northway Mall, which is owned and managed by Olshan Properties.

Charlotte, N.C. — Wegmans Food Markets Inc., a Rochester, New York-based grocer, plans to open a 110,000-square-foot store in Charlotte. Located along North Community House Road, the grocery store will be situated within Ballantyne, Northwood Investors’ 2,000-acre master-planned development on the south side of Charlotte adjacent to the South Carolina border. Publix Opens 48,000-Square-Foot Store in Sarasota, Florida

Sarasota, Fla. — Publix Super Markets has opened a 48,000-square-foot grocery store at Fruitville Farms, a mixed-use development currently underway in Sarasota. Benderson Development is the master developer of the public-private partnership, which will feature 150,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, in addition to 600 apartments and a new 120,000-square-foot Sarasota County Administration Center. Publix is the first tenant to open at the shopping center within Fruitville Farms.
