Yonkers, N.Y. — Marx Realty is underway on the construction of a two-building, 58,000-square-foot retail expansion at Cross County Center, a 1.2 million-square-foot lifestyle center located in Yonkers, just north of New York City. The first building will comprise 14,000 square feet across a single floor and the second building will span 44,000 square feet across two floors. North Point Mall

Alpharetta, Ga. — New York Life Insurance Co. is underway on plans to redevelop North Point Mall in Alpharetta, a suburb roughly 30 miles north of Atlanta. Jamestown has been tapped by New York Life to pursue the redevelopment entitlements for the development.  The Atlanta-based firm, which manages the nearby Avalon mixed-use development following its acquisition of the Atlanta-based holdings and listings of North American Properties in 2024, will also oversee property management for North Point Mall effective March 1. Norwalk, Calif. — A partnership between Primestor and the City of Norwalk is underway on The Walk, an 89,000-square-foot mixed-use community located in Norwalk, approximately 17 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. Designed by DLR Group, the project will be centered around pedestrian-friendly, landscaped pathways that will provide new dining, shopping and public spaces for guests and residents. The Walk is scheduled for completion by late 2027.

Port St. Lucie, Fla. — A partnership between Morgan Co. and Casto Net Lease has acquired a 15-acre land parcel in Port St. Lucie for the development of a grocery-anchored shopping center. Scott Copeland of On Course Development represented the buyers in the transaction. The new center will be anchored by Aldi and will include several outparcels that will be designated for tenants such as McDonald’s, Circle K and AutoZone. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with delivery of the project scheduled for 2027.

McKinney, Texas — Weitzman has announced plans to develop Custer Frontier Marketplace, a 170,000-square-foot, Kroger-anchored shopping center located in McKinney, approximately 33 miles north of Dallas. Situated on the southeast corner of Custer Road and Frontier Parkway, the Kroger Marketplace will comprise a 99,000-square-foot grocery store and fuel station. In addition to the anchor, the center will also feature 54,000 square feet of small-shop and freestanding retail space across multiple buildings and pad sites. Tampa, Fla. — Creative Contractors Inc. has begun the $13.5 million renovation and modernization of Tampa Theatre, a historic cinema in downtown Tampa that opened on Oct. 15, 1926. The Tampa Bay-area general contractor will make audiovisual enhancements to the theater, as well as upgrades across the property’s HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, including the installation of a new elevator. Texas and Birmingham, Ala. — Huey Magoo’s has signed a development agreement to open 12 new restaurants in Texas and Alabama. The deal includes four locations in Birmingham and eight across North Dallas. The Jha Rajput Patel group will own and operate the restaurants. Founded in 2004, Huey Magoo’s has more than 85 locations across 12 states and is on track to reach 100 locations in 2026.
