New York City — New York City-based Thor Equities and Mexico City-based Thor Urbana are set to open three retail centers in Mexico.
The Harbor Mérida, a 1.65 million-square-foot retail and entertainment center, opened on Oct. 19 in Mérida. The property is home to tenants including Sephora, Forever 21, Steve Madden, Under Armour, Innovasport and Miniso. The partnership also opened Town Square Metepec, a 1.7 million-square-foot retail center, in Metepec on Nov. 9. The property features a mix of retail, restaurants and entertainment space. Tenants include Forever 21, Old Navy, Flexzone, Bimba y Lola, Pandora, Swarovski, MAC Cosmetics, Lacoste, Kipling and Under Armour.
The Landmark Guadalajara — a mixed-use development comprised of more than 2 million square feet of retail, office space and luxury residences — is also set to open on Nov. 22 in the Puerta de Hierro district of Jalisco. “We continue to believe strongly in the performance of commercial, hotel and mixed-use properties in major cities and tourist destinations in Mexico and elsewhere in Latin America, particularly emerging areas where we see an opportunity for significant long-term growth,” says Joseph Sitt, chairman of Thor Urbana and Thor Equities Group.
