Lakeland, Fla. — Publix plans to hire 30,000 employees during the fourth quarter of 2021. New employees will work across the company’s portfolio of 1,284 stores, nine distribution centers and 11 manufacturing facilities in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia. Employee benefits at Publix include tuition reimbursement and a stock ownership program. The Lakeland, Florida-based company is also rewarding employees that receive the COVID-19 vaccination with a $125 Publix gift card.

North Lauderdale, Fla. — Franklin Street has arranged the $13.6 million sale of Promenade Shoppes, a 39,650-square-foot shopping center in North Lauderdale. Adam Tiktin and Greg Matus of Franklin Street represented the seller, Arena North Lauderdale Shoppes LLC, in the disposition of the property to Zenix Properties LLC. Built in 2018, the center was fully occupied at the time of sale by 17 tenants, including SunSouth Health Center, T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless and Sarku Japan.

Palm Springs, Fla. — CBRE has arranged the $3.8 million sale of Capitol Mall, a mixed-use property located at 3745 South Congress Ave. in Palm Springs. Capitol Mall consists of a 23,698-square-foot multi-tenant retail building and a 7,250-square-foot warehouse. A South Florida-based private investor operating under the name Capitol Mall LLC acquired the property from Congressional Developers Inc. David Donnellan and Patricia Friend of CBRE represented the buyer in the transaction.

Jacksonville, Fla. — CBRE has arranged the sale of St. Johns Commons, a 71,352-square-foot, Winn-Dixie-anchored shopping center in Jacksonville. Dennis Carson and Casey Rosen of CBRE represented the seller, an affiliate of Phillips Edison & Co., in the transaction. An affiliate of Ash Properties purchased the fully leased center for an undisclosed price.

Miramar, Fla. — RK Centers has acquired Park View Square, a 70,000-square-foot shopping center located roughly 22 miles outside Miami in Miramar, for $15.7 million. Dennis Carson of CBRE represented the seller, Philips Edison & Co., and the buyer in the transaction. The property is anchored by Winn-Dixie and will be renamed as RK Park View Square following the acquisition.

Shoppes at Lake Mary

Lake Mary, Fla. — Avanti Way Capital has acquired Shoppes at Lake Mary, a 37,685-square-foot shopping center located in Lake Mary, from Galium Capital for $8.4 million. Dan Gorczycki and Peter Stobierski of TrueRate Services secured a $5.4 million acquisition loan on behalf of the buyer through Morgan Stanley. The center was 94 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants including Lake Mary Dry Cleaners, Debs Kitchen, Lighthouse Seafood, Morganic Meats and Foxcase LLC. The property has 175 parking spaces.

Boynton Beach, Fla. — CBRE has arranged the $8.2 million sale of Marathon Plaza, a 42,298-square-foot unanchored retail center located in Boynton Beach. Tenants including Panera Bread, Visionworks and Plato’s Closet occupied the center at the time of sale. David Donnellan and Patricia Friend of CBRE represented the seller, GOA Properties, in the disposition of the center to Shoppes at Boynton LLC, an entity affiliated with South Florida-based private investor Michael Janoura.

Lake Mary, Fla. — SRS Real Estate Partners’ Investment Properties Group has arranged the sale of Heathrow Square, a Winn-Dixie-anchored, 101,392-square-foot shopping center in Lake Mary. Kevin Yaryan, Kyle Stonis and Pierce Mayson of SRS represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction. The buyers, Equinox Development and Harbour Retail Partners, were self-represented. The sales price was not disclosed. Heathrow Square was 97 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants including CVS/pharmacy, Pure Barre, Quest Diagnostics and Subway. Winn-Dixie has occupied the store at Heathrow Square for 29 years.
