Fort Worth, Texas — Dallas-based developer StreetLevel Investments has opened the 250,000-square-foot Shops at Chisholm Trail Ranch retail power center in Fort Worth. Specific stores that have opened at the center, which is 90 percent leased, include Ross Dress for Less, Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, Five Below, Tuesday Morning, AT&T, Sprint and others. Restaurants now open include Chick-fil-A, Whataburger and MOD Pizza. The 40,000-square-foot Studio Movie Grill is expected to open at the end of summer.

Plano, Texas — At Home, a home décor and furnishings retailer, posted net sales of $515 million in its fiscal second quarter, which ended July 25, and is reportedly looking to expand its footprint. That figure represents a 42 percent year-over-year increase in comparable store sales. Dallas — Younger Partners, a Dallas-based full-service real estate firm, has launched a new division for the acquisition of retail properties throughout the metroplex. Micah Ashford, a 20-year industry veteran and former partner at retail investment and brokerage firm Dunhill Partners, will lead the new division. Younger Partners considers the creation of a retail acquisitions team to be a critical part of its long-term strategy and believes that opportunities to buy distressed assets and create value will present themselves in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Penney Co. announced on Wednesday that it would reduce its workforce by approximately 1,000 corporate, field management and international positions as part of its store optimization and restructuring plan. Austin, Texas — Whole Foods Market has opened its 35,000-square-foot store at Saltillo, a mixed-use development in East Austin by Endeavor Real Estate Group. The store has served as a fulfillment center for other regional stores during most of the COVID-19 pandemic. The store now offers fresh produce from 75 different growers, full-service meat and seafood departments, a bakery, coffee kiosk and more than 1,000 different wines and 280 different beers, including 150 selections from local alcoholic beverage suppliers.

Plano, Texas — J.C. Penney Co. has revealed the locations of 13 additional stores it will permanently close, including seven in Michigan, as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Prosper, Texas — Marcus & Millichap has arranged the sale of North Preston Village, a 14,240-square-foot retail strip center in Prosper, about 35 miles north of Dallas. The property was built on two acres in 2018 and houses tenants such as Orangetheory Fitness and restaurant The Brass Tap. Chris Gainey and Philip Levy of Marcus & Millichap represented the seller, a partnership, in the transaction. The buyer was a locally based 1031 exchange investor.

Dallas — The Communication Workers of America (CWA) has announced that Dallas-based AT&T has informed the telecommunications and IT union its plans to permanently shutter 250 AT&T Mobility and Cricket Wireless stores. The move would impact 1,300 retail jobs. There are currently more than 16,000 AT&T retail locations in the United States, including authorized retailers and company-owned stores and kiosks. Houston — Lee & Associates-Houston has arranged a 3,000-square-foot lease in Houston for Voodoo Doughnut, a boutique donut shop based in Portland, Ore. Voodoo will open the new store this fall at 1214 Westheimer Road in Houston’s Montrose district. Grant Walker and Brad Kilbride of Lee & Associates-Houston, along with Wade Green of Transwestern, represented Voodoo in the lease deal. The landlord was not disclosed.
