Raritan, N.J. — Burlington has opened a new store at Somerville Circle Shopping Center, a 150,000-square-foot property located at the intersection of Routes 202/206 and Route 28 in Raritan, about 45 miles southeast of New York City. Burlington has backfilled a space formerly occupied by Toys ‘R’ Us/Babies ‘R’ Us. Other tenants at the center include Staples, Petco, Jersey Mike’s, Burger King and Five Below. Levin Management Corp. manages the property. The square footage of the store was not disclosed.

Framingham, Mass. — Locally based development firm Crosspoint Associates has acquired 2.7 acres in the western Boston suburb of Framingham for a retail expansion project. The site formerly housed a Colonial Nissan car dealership and is located adjacent to a Whole Foods Marketplace that will be expanded by 7,163 square feet to a total size of 43,617 square feet. Ocala. Fla. — American Commercial Realty Corp. will redevelop Pearl Britain Plaza, a Publix-anchored shopping center in Ocala. The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-based developer will demolish the existing Publix, which was built in 1991, and build a new 48,387-square-foot Publix. Anchoring the 77,637-square-foot center, the new Publix will feature a drive-thru pharmacy. Existing tenants including Stay Faded Barber, Sam’s Nails, Wise Guys Pizzeria, Jackson Hewitt and Shang Hai Restaurant will remain in place when the center reopens, scheduled for early 2021. Philadelphia — Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) has opened a 15,616-square-foot store at Fashion District Philadelphia, a shopping, dining and entertainment destination in the Center City neighborhood. DSW’s opening comes on the heels of the debuts of tenants such as Kate Spade Outlet and Industrious, as well as the re-openings of Candytopia and Wonderspaces. Arlington, Va. — Discount grocer Lidl US plans to open 50 new stores in nine states on the East Coast by the end of 2021. Arlington, Va.-based Lidl US will invest $500 million and hire 2,000 employees as part of the expansion. The footprints of the new stores will include six in Georgia, one in South Carolina, five in North Carolina, seven in Virginia, 10 in Maryland, six in New York, 10 in New Jersey, one in Delaware and four in Pennsylvania. New York City — Luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. has unveiled plans for the redevelopment of its flagship store at 727 5th Ave. in Manhattan. The top three floors of the 10-story building will be converted from office space into a new exhibition and event space surrounded by a curtain of glass complementing the limestone façade below. Fort Worth, Texas — Studio Movie Grill will open a 12-screen theater Friday, Aug. 28 at The Shops at Chisholm Trail Ranch, a 250,000-square-foot retail center by StreetLevel Investments in Fort Worth.
