New York City — Automaker Rivian has opened a 5,000-square-foot store in New York City’s Meatpacking district, marking the most recent location for its “Spaces” lineup, a collection of temporary and permanent experiential retail centers. Featuring a floor-to-ceiling glass storefront, the space will showcase the company’s flagship vehicles and offer product education and community programming. Rivian plans to introduce more Spaces stores throughout this year and 2024, with upcoming locations including Brooklyn, New York; Laguna Beach, California; and a 10,000-square-foot site in Austin, Texas.

Pearl, Miss. — Marshalls will open a 21,160-square-foot store at Outlets of Mississippi, a retail outlet center located in Pearl, roughly five miles outside Jackson. Scheduled to open later this summer and marking the eighth location in the state, the store will be situated in a space formerly occupied by Saks OFF 5TH. Other tenants at Outlets of Mississippi, which totals 325,000 square feet, include Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Nike, Cole Haan, Coach Outlet, Levi’s, Michael Kors, Gap Factory Store and Under Armour.
West Hollywood, Calif. — JLL has arranged a 392-square-foot lease at a retail property in West Hollywood. European home fragrance and décor brand Baobab Collection will occupy the space, marking the second location in the country for the brand. The store is scheduled to open at the end of the year. New York City — Life Time Fitness has entered a 53,000-square-foot lease agreement to occupy space on the first three floors of PENN 1, a building located adjacent to Madison Square Garden in New York City. The location will open in two phases beginning in summer 2023. Phase One will feature boutique studios, hundreds of pieces of equipment, a curated recovery space, spa, dressing rooms and a juice bar. Nashville, Tenn. — Southwest Value Partners and AEG, joint venture partners and co-developers of the 18-acre Nashville Yards mixed-use development in Nashville, have signed Iconix Fitness to a 40,000-square-foot retail lease. Michael Townsend of Townsend & Associates advised Iconix Fitness in the lease transaction. Scheduled to open in summer 2025, Iconix will occupy the entire second floor of a 420,000-square-foot building, which will also house an EVO Entertainment venue. Walnut, Calif. — Progressive Real Estate Partners has arranged a 2,366-square-foot, 10-year lease with The Habit Burger Grill in Walnut. Paul Su of Progressive represented the landlord in lease negotiations. The tenant plans to execute a significant renovation of the building, which is situated across from Mt. San Antonio College and features a drive-thru.
Maryland — Slim Chickens has signed a deal with Phoenix Foods LLC to open eight new locations in the Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll and Harford. Brad Hoag, franchisee and owner of Phoenix Foods, will operate the locations, which will join another 1,100 restaurants currently in development for the brand. Hoag, who is based in Baltimore, is a former developer and operator of 10 Qdoba Mexican Grill locations and currently operates 10 Burger King restaurants.
Dallas — Five new stores and restaurants are set to open at Galleria Dallas, a shopping center located in Dallas. Outdoor gear brand Cotopaxi has opened a location at the property, and H&M Home will occupy 7,500 square feet — in addition to the existing H&M store. Women’s clothing retailer Intimissimi has also opened a boutique at the shopping center, and restaurants North Italia and Salut Paris Bakery will open this fall and summer, respectively. Chattanooga, Tenn. — Four new tenants will join Hamilton Place in Chattanooga. Crunch Fitness will open a 35,000-square-foot location at the property, and restaurants Texas Roadhouse, Taco Mamacita and Community Pie have also signed leases. Construction on the Crunch Fitness space is scheduled to begin in August, with the opening planned for later this year. Work is currently underway on Community Pie and Taco Mamacita, which will open in July and next year, respectively. Chicago — A joint venture between Hubbard Street Group and College Park Athletic Clubs has announced plans to open a 41,000-square-foot pickleball-themed sports and entertainment center in Chicago. Dubbed Pickle Haüs, the concept will occupy a former retail store and feature 12 indoor pickleball courts, three golf simulators, an outdoor patio and a bar, entertainment and event space.
