The 48,000-square-foot Publix is one of the company’s newest prototype models, featuring a drive-thru pharmacy and an updated layout with a mezzanine level. There is 12,000 square feet of shop space available as well, including a 2,925-square-foot end-cap restaurant space with an outdoor patio. Three outparcels are available for sale or ground lease. Miramar, Fla. — Deerfield Beach, Florida-based Konover South LLC has broken ground on Miramar Park Place, a 56,600-square-foot retail center in Miramar. Tenants, which include Flannigan’s, World of Beer, Jersey Mike’s and Starbucks, are expected to open in summer 2021. Konover South, in partnership with Master Development Partners of Dania Beach, Florida, purchased the property in October 2019. R.A. Rodgers Construction Co., based in Altamonte Springs, Florida, is the general contractor. City National Bank provided a $20 million construction loan for the project.
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Whole Foods Market will open a 47,000-square-foot store in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The new location will be situated at 501 SE 17th St., two miles south of downtown Fort Lauderdale and within CURV, Ram Realty’s 243-unit multifamily community. The store will include a coffee bar featuring cold-brew, nitro tea, wine and beer. This will be Whole Foods’ second Fort Lauderdale location, with the first being located at 2000 N. Federal Highway.

Sarasota, Fla. — A joint venture between Miami-based Limestone Asset Management and Orion Real Estate Group has purchased two retail properties in Sarasota for $15.5 million. The properties are located at 362 and 371 St. Armands Circle on Lido Key, four miles west of downtown Sarasota. French pastry shop Le Macaron, fashion retailer Breezin’ Up and women’s clothing store Sahara occupy the property at 362 St. Armands. Tommy Bahama occupies the space at 371 St. Armands. Florida-based Ocean Bank provided acquisition financing to the buyers. The seller(s) was not disclosed.
Orlando, Fla. — Darden Restaurants Inc. (NYSE: DRI) has reported its sales fell 28.4 percent in its fiscal first quarter, which ended Aug. 30. The Orlando-based company owns restaurant brands including Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Yard House, The Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Bahama Breeze and Eddie V’s.
