Annapolis, Md. — Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), the owner of Westfield Annapolis mall, has unveiled plans to renovate and improve the mall, while adding new tenants. URW will convert the mall’s 110,000-square-foot former Lord & Taylor department store into a new shopping district composed of boutiques, home design stores and experience-driven offerings. Maryland and Virginia — United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) will sell 13 of its 43 Shoppers Food & Pharmacy locations in a continued effort to reduce its retail footprint. The company will sell the stores to three grocery operators, which will run the stores under their respective banners. UNFI will also close four Shoppers Food locations by the end of January 2020. Bethesda, Md. — Finmarc Management Inc. has sold Travilah Square, a 61,500-square-foot, Trader Joe’s-anchored shopping center in Bethesda. Finmarc acquired the property in 2015 and renovated it to include new brick and steel exterior façades, as well as a new canopy, LED lighting and signage throughout the center. The company also demolished a former office building and freestanding Burger King and replaced it with a new structure that was subsequently leased by Trader Joe’s, which opened in September 2018. The new store, located at 10210 Mill Run Circle, features Giant’s Pickup service, a full pharmacy and expanded departments. Giant Food locations at 9934 Reisterstown Road and 9730 Groffs Mill Road in Owings Mills closed when the new store opened.

Pasadena, Md. — KeyBank Real Estate Capital has provided a $26.6 million, non-recourse bridge loan to refinance Pasadena Crossroads, a 320,249-square-foot retail center in Pasadena. The loan includes funds for leasing and capital expenditures. The center was originally built in 1973 and was renovated earlier this year. Hobby Lobby, Art Van Furniture, LA Fitness and Sprouts Farmers Market anchor the property, which is 37 percent leased. Jacob Proctor of KeyBank arranged financing on behalf of the undisclosed borrower.

The Giant Food-anchored center is situated 19 miles east of downtown Washington, D.C. Tenants include Ross Dress for Less, Tuesday Morning, Starbucks Coffee, T.J. Maxx, Office Depot and Sakura Japanese Steakhouse. Federal Investment Realty Trust sold the property.
