Dallas — Russell Glen Co. will develop a 50,000-square-foot Tom Thumb at The Shops at RedBird, the mixed-use redevelopment of Southwest Center Mall in Dallas. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with the opening planned for summer 2024. Terrence Maiden of Russell Glen and co-developer and investor Peter Brodsky are leading the redevelopment of the property, which has included $250 million of investment to date. An additional 30,000 square feet of adjacent retail and restaurant space is under construction at the development.

Dallas — Dallas-based brand EoS Fitness has acquired gym chain Texans Fit, taking over and rebranding five locations in metro Houston. This acquisition marks 75 open gyms for EoS, which opened its first Texas location in Euless in January. Services as the former Texans Fit gyms will continue uninterrupted, and all employees have been offered the option to continue their employment. Another location is scheduled to open in Spring, Texas, later this month.
Houston and Sugar Land, Texas — Whitestone REIT has signed four new tenants to four of its Texas properties. Together, the leases total 26,818 square feet. Dough Zone Dumpling House will open a 3,863 square foot restaurant at BLVD Place property, located in Houston, bringing the property to 99 percent occupancy.
