Dale City, Va. — Sterling Organization has sold Cheshire Station, a Safeway-anchored shopping center in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Dale City. Haverford Properties purchased the 105,054-square-foot shopping center for $29.1 million. Cheshire Station’s tenant roster includes Petco, AutoZone, GNC, Sprint, Starbucks Coffee, Sherwin-Williams and a Virginia ABC liquor store. CBRE brokered the transaction. Sterling sold the property along with Market at Opitz, another shopping center in Northern Virginia, for a combined sales price of $58.4 million.

Kingstowne, Va. — Avison Young has brokered the sale of a retail portfolio totaling 410,398 square feet in Kingstowne, located approximately 13 miles southwest of Washington, D.C. in Fairfax County. Rockville, Maryland-based Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) purchased the portfolio for $200 million. The retail portfolio includes a significant portion of Kingstowne Towne Center, a live-work-play power center in Virginia. Midlothian, Va. — Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer has arranged the sale of 11251 Hull Street Road, a 6,400-square-foot freestanding retail building in Midlothian, about 15 miles from downtown Richmond. James Ashby IV of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer represented the buyer, MB Ventures LLC. An entity doing business as KLS Hilltop LLC sold the property for $2.1 million. The property is fully leased by Safelite AutoGlass, a Columbus, Ohio-based provider of vehicle glass repair, replacement and calibration services.

Christiansburg, Va. — SRS Real Estate Partners has brokered the $8.2 million sale of North Shops at Spradlin Farm, a 17,290-square-foot, multi-tenant retail center in Christiansburg. Britt Raymond, Kyle Fant, Matthew Mousavi and Patrick Luther of SRS represented the seller, a North Carolina-based shopping center investment fund. Tyler Price of Price Richards Commercial represented the buyer, a California-based investment firm, in the 1031 exchange transaction. Springfield, Va. — Cushman & Wakefield has arranged the sale of Backlick Center, a 48,267-square-foot shopping center in Springfield, about 14 miles from Washington, D.C. John Owendoff of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, a Dallas-based real estate fund advised by Crow Holdings Capital, in the transaction. Glazer Properties acquired the property for $25 million. Backlick Center was 91 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants including Chick-fil-A, Advance Auto Parts, Outback Steakhouse and Taco Bamba.
