The 38,816-square-foot property was home to a Piggly Wiggly for more than 40 years before the grocer closed in April. Harrison Creason and Andrew Margulies of Marcus & Millichap brokered the transaction between the seller, an out-of-state owner, and the buyer, locally based-Cason Development Group, in the transaction.

Florence, S.C. — The Morgan Cos. will develop a grocery-anchored shopping center in Florence, dubbed Palmetto Place. Publix has signed a lease for a 47,000-square-foot space to anchor the project. An additional 18,050 square feet of retail space will be available, as well as several outparcels for future retail development. Originally built in 1980, the Kroger-anchored center is situated on 13.8 acres. Tenants at the property include Orangetheory Fitness, Pizza Hut, Pet Supplies Plus and Palm Beach Tan.
