Los Angeles — CBRE has appointed Brandon Famous chairman of the newly formed Global Retail Occupier Executive Committee.
In his new role, Famous will establish and lead CBRE’s global strategy for advising retailers on cross-border expansion. The 30-year retail veteran currently serves as senior managing director of CBRE’s retail advisory and transaction services in the Americas. Prior to joining CBRE, Famous co-founded Fameco Real Estate, which CBRE acquired in 2013.
“Retailers are now more deliberate than ever in their expansion to new countries, focusing on positioning the right stores in the right markets instead of opening as many as possible,” says Anthony Buona, global president of retail at CBRE. “Brandon is the ideal leader for this committee and this effort with CBRE.”
Joining Famous on the committee are Bryn Davies, senior director of Asia client development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Rebecca Pearson, associate director of retail advisory and transaction services in Asia; David Close, executive director and head of CBRE’s EMEA retail occupier practice; Tim Starling, head of CBRE’s retail occupier practice in Australia and New Zealand; and Melina Cordero, global head of retail research at CBRE.
