Atlanta — Vertical construction has begun at Echo Street West, a 19-acre mixed-use development by Lincoln Property Co. at the intersection of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Northside Drive in Atlanta. At completion, the multi-phase project will include 300,000 square feet of creative office space, 50,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 292 multifamily units, event space and 3.4 acres of outdoor entertainment and green space.
An event venue named Guardian Works recently opened at the property. Phase one of Guardian Studios and CoLab, a neighborhood creative office space led by Joan Vernon of Westside Future Fund, are set to open soon. Guardian Studios is an adaptive reuse of an early 1900s-era warehouse. The first phase of the project will feature 14 rentable art studios ranging in size from 200 to 500 square feet, a 3,000-square-foot open gallery space and outdoor wall murals. The second phase will add another 26 rentable studios. Local minority- and women-led arts organization Black Women in Visual Arts (BWVA) has been tapped to curate Guardian Studios.
Phase I of Echo Street West will be delivered starting in 2022, while the adaptive reuse buildings are opening now through the end of the year. The development team for the project includes Bridge Investment Group, Bank OZK, Kimley-Horn, Merit Construction, ASD|SKY, DPR Construction, RIOS, Juneau Construction Co., Dwell Design Studio, BWVA, Novare Events, Revel, Southern Culinary & Creative and SRS Real Estate Partners.
