Crestwood, Mo. — Redevelopment plans have been unveiled for the former Crestwood Mall site in Crestwood, located 13 miles outside St. Louis.

The current owner of the property, UrbanStreet Group, has completed the environmental remediation and demolition of the mall. Recently, a group of investors operating within St. Louis-based Walpert Properties Inc. have taken the site under contract and engaged the Remiger Design + Cedergreen team to take the development in a new direction. Plans for the property — to be named Crestwood City Center — include 794,000 square feet of retail, office and residential space.

The project will include 160,000 square feet of retail and entertainment spaces, including 69,000 square feet of street-side retail, a pharmacy, four out lots and a cinema; 240,000 square feet of office and medical space; a residential component, which will include a four-story multifamily building with shared amenities such as a fitness room, pool and outdoor cooking and meeting areas for residents; and nearly 3,000 parking spaces, including several structured parking decks for the office building and surrounding retail and residents.

The property will also connect to Grant’s Trail, one of the region’s 16 active greenways. HBD will be the general construction contractor, and Pam Hinds and Christopher Zoellner of Balke Brown Transwestern are handling the office and retail leasing, respectively. A timeline for development has yet to be announced.
