Lake Grove, N.Y. — Simon Property Group has unveiled plans for a multimillion-dollar transformation of Smith Haven Mall in the Long Island village of Lake Grove. The redevelopment project will feature improvements to both the interior and exterior of the mall, with the addition of new retailers, restaurants, a new outdoor plaza and amenities throughout the property. Tallahassee, Fla. — Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap, has brokered the $24 million sale of Westend Square, a 152,335-square-foot shopping center in Tallahassee. Renovated in 2022, Aldi shadow-anchors the center. Tenants at the property — which was 98 percent leased at the time of sale — include Five Below, Planet Fitness, Pet Supermarket, Aaron’s Rent To Own, Little Caesars Pizza, the U.S. Post Office and Citi Trends. Arcadia, Calif. — DAUM Commercial Real Estate Services has arranged the sale of a 5,000-square-foot restaurant space in Arcadia, roughly 13 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. Dream1212 LLC, the owner of Mama Lu’s Dumpling House, acquired the property from an undisclosed seller for $4 million. The Arcadia property serves as Mama Lu’s sixth location. This acquisition is part of an expansion of the Chinese restaurant chain, with openings in Beverly Hills and Las Vegas planned for early 2025. Branch Properties Receives Rezoning Approval for Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville, Georgia

Gainesville, Ga. — Atlanta-based Branch Properties has received approval of its rezoning application for Lakeshore Mall in Gainesville. Plans call for the center to be redeveloped into a 49-acre mixed-use project, Lakeshore, that will include 305,444 square feet of retail space, 652 multifamily residential units and 38,200 square feet of outdoor community greenspace. Future phases of the project will include townhomes and a hotel. Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2026, with completion anticipated for 2028. Liberated Brands Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, Plans to Close 122 Stores

Costa Mesa, Calif. — Liberated Brands, a licensed operator of several sport, outdoor and lifestyle apparel brands, has initiated Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, according to court documents filed in Delaware.  Liberated Brands’ retail portfolio of brands includes Volcom, Billabong, Quiksilver, ROXY, Honolua Surf, RVCA, Beachworks, Becker Surfboards, ZJ Boarding House, Spyder and Boardriders. Enola, Pa. — Philadelphia-based Agora Commercial Realty Advisors has acquired Summerdale Plaza, a 147,916-square-foot shopping center located in Enola, just west of Harrisburg, for $15.2 million. The center — which was 80 percent leased at the time of sale — is anchored by Tractor Supply, AutoZone, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Rite Aid and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
