Union, N.J. — All 120 Buy Buy Baby stores will close following the bankruptcy of its parent company, Bed Bath & Beyond, reports CNBC. Bed Bath & Beyond, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April, previously planned to sell the chain, with brand management firm Go Global Retail interested in acquiring Buy Buy Baby and continuing to run its stores. Instead, Dream on Me Industries has purchased the brand’s trademark and digital assets for $15.5 million. Corpus Christi, Texas — Partners Real Estate has brokered the sale of River Court Shopping Center, a 14,000-square-foot retail strip center in Corpus Christi. Tenants at the property include First Cash Pawn, Pro Cleaners and Hu-Dat Noodle House. Gustavo Torres of Partners Real Estate represented the seller, an entity doing business as KCP River Court, in the transaction.

Cypress, Calif. — Seven new tenants are joining The Square Cypress, a mixed-use retail center located in Cypress, roughly 25 miles outside Los Angeles. Trader Joe’s has opened a store at the center, and BLK Dot Coffee, Board & Brew Specialty Sandwiches, Dr. Footman, El Zarape, The Kebab Shop and YogaSix have also signed leases at the property. The Square Cypress features 31,000 square feet of grocery, retail and restaurant space, with plans for the addition of an apartment community, hotel and medical office building.

Puttshack-Baltimore

Baltimore — Chasen Cos. has signed Puttshack to The Whitney, a five-story mixed-use building in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood. Scheduled to open in late 2024, the space will mark the first Maryland location for the brand, which currently has nine locations in the U.S. The space will comprise roughly 25,000 square feet and feature three nine-hole mini-golf courses, private event space, two full-service bars and an outdoor patio space with 50-seat capacity.

Atlantic-II_Delray-Beach-Fla

Delray Beach, Fla. — PEBB Enterprises and Banyan Development have started construction on Atlantic II, a 10-acre mixed-use project located in Delray Beach. Upon completion, which is scheduled for mid-2024, the development will feature a 10,000-square-foot, multi-tenant retail building, 100,000 square feet of self-storage space and a car wash outparcel. The outparcel is currently under contract for sale, and Paradise Grills has signed a lease to occupy 6,000 square feet in the retail building. Liberty Investment Properties, which develops self-storage properties, is partnering with the joint venture on the development.

San Clemente, Calif. — Wood Investments Cos. has acquired a 25,000-square-foot single-tenant retail property located in San Clemente for $7 million. The 99 Store occupies the property, which is situated within Pico Plaza shopping center. “The 99 Store has been a good tenant and partner of ours in other centers, and this was another opportunity to partner with them again,” says Patrick Wood, chief executive officer and president of Wood Investments.

Shoppes-at-Town-Square_Deer-Park-Texas

Deer Park, Texas — Northmarq has brokered the sale of The Shoppes at Town Square, an 11,692-square-foot retail strip center in Deer Park, a suburb of Houston. The center was leased to five tenants at the time of sale. Riley Sharman of Northmarq represented the Florida-based seller in the deal. The buyer was a local 1031 exchange investor. Peters and Michael Borden of Northmarq arranged acquisition financing.

Willow Grove, Pa. — The second phase of construction for Tilted 10, an entertainment complex totaling 103,000 square feet, has been completed at Willow Grove Park Mall, a PREIT property located in Willow Grove. Tilted 10, a Nickles and Dimes Inc. concept, features bowling, games, golf courses, a shooting gallery, bumper car rink and laser tag arena. A full-service taco bar is also currently underway at the location.

Albuquerque, N.M. — Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors has arranged the sale of a 3,331-square-foot single-tenant retail property located in Albuquerque. Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers occupies the building on a 15-year, triple-net lease. Bill Asher, Jeff Lefko and Jeremy McChesney of Hanley represented the seller and developer, TradeCor LLC, in the transaction, in association with ParaSell Inc. Greg Swedelson and Jon-Eric Greene of SSG Realty Partners represented the buyer, an undisclosed private investor.
