Naples, Fla. — WMG Development has broken ground on The Shoppes at Orange Blossom, a new retail center in Naples. Publix will anchor the property, which will total more than 60,000 square feet. Other tenants at the center will include Great Clips and Le Nail Salon. Scheduled for completion in late summer 2025, the project is situated at the entrance to Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park, a 150-acre outdoor park and entertainment destination, and adjacent to apartment community Emblem at Orange Blossom.

Bossier City, La. — The Cordish Cos. has topped off construction of its Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, a $270 million hospitality and gaming entertainment complex located in Bossier City. (NYSE: BALY) has released an updated permanent site plan for its $1.7 billion casino project in Chicago, a redevelopment of the former Chicago Tribune printing plant that will now be developed in a single phase. Summerville, S.C. — An affiliate of North America Sekisui House (NASH) has broken ground on Marketplace at Nexton, a new retail and restaurant project at the company’s Nexton master-planned community in the Charleston suburb of Summerville. Upon completion, the development will total 35,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space across six one-story buildings ranging from 3,500 to 10,000 square feet in size. El Paso, Texas — The El Paso City Council has approved a proposal to develop an $80 million concert venue and has formed a public-private partnership with the operator, hospitality firm Venu (formerly known as Notes Live). The project will span 17 acres of city-owned land and will anchor the Cohen Entertainment District on the city’s northeast side. Milledgeville, Ga. — The Sembler Co. has completed the development of Lakeside Commons, a 60,500-square-foot retail center located in Milledgeville. A 48,387-square-foot, freestanding Publix anchors property, which also features 12,000 square feet of small shop space and two outparcels. Other tenants at the property include Sugar Polish Nail Spa and T-Mobile, which occupy 3,600 and 2,400 square feet, respectively. Construction on the center began early last year.
