Studio City, Calif. — Midwood Investment & Development is nearing completion of The Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge, a $100 million retail redevelopment of land formerly occupied by a meeting and convention center in Studio City. A rolling opening for the 95,000-square-foot property is scheduled to begin this summer. Worthington, Ohio — Direct Retail Partners has received the final zoning approval to begin construction on Phase I of the redevelopment of the Shops at Worthington Place in Worthington, a northern suburb of Columbus. The project, known as High North, will transform the shopping mall into a mixed-use development, anchored by a 125,000-square-foot Class A office building. West Palm Beach, Fla. — Tricera Capital has obtained a $50.8 million loan for The Press, a mixed-use project in West Palm Beach. The transaction refinances an existing loan and provides the company with funding to complete its redevelopment of the existing Palm Beach Post campus. Jason Krane and Simon Ziff of Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group arranged the financing on behalf of Tricera through Monroe Capital LLC. Thompson Thrift to Develop 95,000-Square-Foot Retail Project in Mesa, Arizona

Mesa, Ariz. — Thompson Thrift Retail Group (TTRG) has acquired the first parcel of a 15-acre master-planned development in Mesa. When fully developed, the property will offer 95,000 square feet of retail space in a mix of freestanding and multi-tenant buildings. Whataburger, Backyard Taco, Black Rock Coffee and EOS Fitness have committed to the new project, the first phase of which is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2022. At build-out, TTRG expects the development to have a total project cost in excess of $28 million.

The store features a 17,000-square-foot outdoor turf field and running track, a rock-climbing wall, batting cage, golf driving bays and a health and wellness area for customers dealing with athletic injuries.
