City of Atlanta Unveils Plans for Mall West End Redevelopment

Atlanta — The City of Atlanta, through Atlanta Urban Development (AUD), has unveiled plans for a 1.7 million-square-foot mixed-use redevelopment of the Mall West End. BRP Cos. is the developer. Key elements of the Mall West End redevelopment plan include: approximately 120,000 square feet of retail space, including a grocery store, fitness center, food and beverage, and local boutiques; 893 mixed-income rental units; 152 beds of student housing; a 150-key hotel; 12,000 square feet of medical office space; and community amenities. Ten New Tenants Sign Leases at River Street Marketplace in Southern California

San Juan Capistrano, Calif. — Ten new tenants have signed leases at River Street Marketplace, a 60,000-square-foot retail center currently underway in San Juan Capistrano. Rowan, Tecovas, Hobie, May Martin, Studio Pilates, Parana Empanadas, Pastalia, The Sushi Stand, Kebab Craft and Capas have joined the lineup, bringing the total number of tenants to 30. ALMQUIST is the developer and landlord of the property, which is scheduled to open in September.

Gilbert, Ariz. — Okland Capital and San Tan Development Group have broken ground on Phase I of Northside at SanTan Village, a $100 million mixed-use development in the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert. Bulls, Blackhawks Owners Unveil Plans for $7 Billion Transformation of Chicago Athletic District

Chicago — The owners of the NBA’s Chicago Bulls and NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks have unveiled plans for the transformation of the area around their shared venue, the United Center. The initiative is known as The 1901 Project, and development costs are estimated at $7 billion. Michael Reinsdorf, CEO of the Bulls and son of owner Jerry Reinsdorf, formally announced the project on Tuesday, July 23. Cosm to Open Entertainment Venue at $5 Billion Centennial Yards Development in Atlanta

Atlanta — Immersive technology, media and entertainment company Cosm has announced plans to open an entertainment venue at Centennial Yards, a $5 billion mixed-use development currently underway in downtown Atlanta.  Situated within the project’s Sports and Entertainment District, the venue will comprise 70,000 square feet across three levels. The project team includes Hillwood subsidiaries Hillwood Communities and Hillwood Properties.
