Waco, Texas — Houston-based NewQuest Properties has broken ground on Cottonwood Creek Market, a 143-acre entertainment retail project in Waco. Located at the intersection of Interstate 35 and Loop 340, the development will span 285,000 square feet. A 14-screen Cinemark theater will anchor the project, and NewQuest is in talks to add a bowling and family dining concept, as well as a national retailer in golf entertainment. The opening is scheduled for spring 2020.

Dallas — The Dallas Cowboys, in partnership with global fitness center developer Mark Mastrov, will open a 20,000-square-foot Cowboys Fit gymnasium at the AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas. Club members can enjoy a range of boutique fitness classes, including yoga and barre, as well as access to customized fitness plans and Cowboys merchandise. The opening is slated for this winter.

Allentown, Pa. — City Center Investment Corp. plans to open Downtown Allentown Market, a $4 million project in Allentown. The 12,000-square-foot retail space will be located within the City Center Allentown mixed-use development. The market will feature nine food and drink merchants, indoor and outdoor seating and flexible space for programming and pop-up shops. Minneapolis — Eleven Artisans, a brew pub and entertainment venue, has signed a 3,500-square-foot lease at the historic Handicraft Guild Building and Assembly Hall adjacent to the new City Club Apartments. The name Eleven Artisans comes from a community of 11 female artists who pioneered a creative movement in downtown Minneapolis in the early 1900s. New York City — Restaurateur Todd Leong, owner of Lucky Rice as well as Leaf Bar & Lounge, will open The Beer Assembly, a 3,550-square-foot beer garden at Tangram. The 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development is located in Flushing. The three-tier, 55,000-square-foot driving range and bar is located at 201 Clifton Court, 10 miles from downtown Greenville and directly off Interstate 85. Watchung, N.J. — Cinemark Holdings Inc. has opened a 10-screen theater at 1670 Route 22 East in Watchung, located 30 miles west of New York City. The theater will feature wall-to-wall screens, oversized recliners, reserved seating services and a party room for private events. The venue will be the third in the state for Cinemark, which currently operates 546 theaters across 41 states and various Latin American countries.

Plano, Texas — Cinépolis USA will open a 10-screen, 40,000-square-foot theater at The Shops at Willow Bend in Plano as part of owner Starwood Retail Partners’ $145 million project to expand and renovate the mall. The theater, which joins entertainment concepts like Crayola Experience and the North Texas Performing Arts Children’s Theatre, will be directly integrated into the mall and will offer a variety of food and beverage options. The venue, which is scheduled to open in 2020, will be Cinépolis’ third in Texas.
