Cypress, Calif. — Seven new tenants are joining The Square Cypress, a mixed-use retail center located in Cypress, roughly 25 miles outside Los Angeles. Trader Joe’s has opened a store at the center, and BLK Dot Coffee, Board & Brew Specialty Sandwiches, Dr. Footman, El Zarape, The Kebab Shop and YogaSix have also signed leases at the property. The Square Cypress features 31,000 square feet of grocery, retail and restaurant space, with plans for the addition of an apartment community, hotel and medical office building.
Baltimore — Chasen Cos. has signed Puttshack to The Whitney, a five-story mixed-use building in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood. Scheduled to open in late 2024, the space will mark the first Maryland location for the brand, which currently has nine locations in the U.S. The space will comprise roughly 25,000 square feet and feature three nine-hole mini-golf courses, private event space, two full-service bars and an outdoor patio space with 50-seat capacity.
Willow Grove, Pa. — The second phase of construction for Tilted 10, an entertainment complex totaling 103,000 square feet, has been completed at Willow Grove Park Mall, a PREIT property located in Willow Grove. Tilted 10, a Nickles and Dimes Inc. concept, features bowling, games, golf courses, a shooting gallery, bumper car rink and laser tag arena. A full-service taco bar is also currently underway at the location.
Honolulu — Six new tenants are set to join Ala Moana Center, a 2.3 million-square-foot regional retail center located in Honolulu. Jack-in-the-Box, boutique Mahina and restaurant Yung Yee Kee Dim Sum will open at the property in August. Frozen yogurt concept Yoajung and eyewear brand Quay will also lease space at the center beginning in September, with Yeti scheduled to open a store this fall. Renovated in 2015, the property sees more than 53 million visitors each year.
Carlsbad, Calif. — Three new tenants have signed leases at Carlsbad Arcade in the Village, a retail center comprising 13,000 square feet in Carlsbad, roughly 35 miles north of San Diego. Village Florist Co., Carlsbad Golf Carts and Joey Snow Design Co. will occupy 1,180; 1,250 and 1,060 square feet, respectively. Serena Patterson and Luke Holler of Urban Property Group represented both the tenants and the landlord, Carlsbad One LLC, in the leasing transactions.
Hutto, Texas — EVO Entertainment Group has signed a 53,300-square-foot lease at Townwest Commons in Hutto, with plans to open a cinema, bowling and entertainment venue at the property in 2024. Nathan Nickerson of Common Ground represented the tenant in the leasing negotiations and secured an incentives package with the City of Hutto. Josh Friedlander and David Meyers represented the landlord, NewQuest Properties, on an internal basis.
Cherry Hill, N.J. — Two new tenants have opened at Cherry Hill Mall, a PREIT shopping center located in Cherry Hill. Earlier this month, seafood restaurant Eddie V’s opened at the property, and clothing retailer Psycho Bunny also recently opened a store within the mall. Additionally, the H&M, Garage and Aldo stores at the mall have been remodeled, and Brooks Brothers and UNIQLO are scheduled to join the tenant roster this summer, with Oak & Fort expected to open a store at the property later this year.
Huntington Beach, Calif. — Six new tenants are set to open at Bella Terra, an 852,000-square-foot mixed-use development currently underway in Huntington Beach. The property is being developed by a partnership between DJM and PGIM. Philz Coffee is scheduled to open in July and Fogo de Chão will open in August, with Jan’s Health Bar and Snooze AM Eatery both set to open this fall. Sandy Springs, Ga. — A partnership between CONNOLLY and Coro Realty has announced plans to reposition the retail portion of a 120,000-square-foot mixed-use development located in Sandy Springs, roughly 16 miles north of Atlanta. The partnership acquired the property in February 2022 for $40.5 million. Formerly known as Sandy Springs Gateway, the development will undergo capital improvements and be known as Chastain Market going forward. Brea, Calif. — Wood Investments Cos. has signed UFC GYM to open within a 30,000-square-foot retail property formerly occupied by Tower Records in Brea, roughly 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles. Scheduled to open in the third quarter of this year, UFC GYM will fully occupy the two-story, single-tenant building.
