The property was fully leased at the time of sale to 16 tenants including Aldi, Family Dollar, Mr. Tire, AutoZone, McCormick Paints, Super Shoe and Papa John’s. Baltimore — Sprouts Farmers Market will open a new store in Baltimore on Wednesday, July 22. The store, located at 3800 Boston St., will be the fifth location in Maryland for the Phoenix-based grocer. Sprouts is following CDC guidelines at the location, requiring employees to wear masks, promoting social distancing and installing plexiglass barriers at registers. Waldorf, Md. — The Republic Family of Cos. has broken ground on Waldorf Park, a 35,000-square-foot retail project in Waldorf. The development is expected to open in the first half of 2021. Committed tenants at Waldorf Park include Chick-fil-A, Jersey Mike’s and Starbucks. The property is located along Crain Highway, about 20 miles southeast of downtown Washington, D.C. Venture Construction Co. is the general contractor for Waldorf Park, and Jimmy Richards & Sons Excavating is the site contractor. The architect is Brasher Designs. Maryland and Virginia — United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) will sell 13 of its 43 Shoppers Food & Pharmacy locations in a continued effort to reduce its retail footprint. The company will sell the stores to three grocery operators, which will run the stores under their respective banners. UNFI will also close four Shoppers Food locations by the end of January 2020. Bethesda, Md. — Finmarc Management Inc. has sold Travilah Square, a 61,500-square-foot, Trader Joe’s-anchored shopping center in Bethesda. Finmarc acquired the property in 2015 and renovated it to include new brick and steel exterior façades, as well as a new canopy, LED lighting and signage throughout the center.
