Sterling Heights, Mich. — DealPoint Merrill LLC has acquired a 69,275-square-foot former Kroger shopping center in Sterling Heights. The property sits on seven acres at the corner of Dequindre and 18 Mile roads. DealPoint Merrill plans to redevelop the center into a 138,000-square-foot development, but further details of the project were not disclosed. DealPoint Merrill’s CEO David Frank negotiated the transaction while the company’s president, Sterling McGregor, handled the due diligence and financing. The seller and purchase price were undisclosed.

Ann Arbor, Mich. — Domino’s Pizza Inc. reported that its U.S. same-store sales grew 17.5 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year. The Ann Arbor-based pizza chain says it was positively impacted by customers ordering more takeout during the COVID-19 pandemic. Global retail sales increased by 14.4 percent in the third quarter to more than $3.7 billion. The retail center is located at the intersection of Big Beaver and Rochester roads in Troy, about 20 miles north of Detroit. Bloomfield Hills, Mich. — Taubman Centers Inc. (NYSE: TCO) has reopened all of its properties in the United States and Asia. Most U.S. centers were temporarily closed beginning March 19 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bloomfield Hills-based Taubman says it has been gradually reopening centers using enhanced safety protocols in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Oakland County, Mich. — The dispute between Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE: SPG) and Taubman Centers Inc. (NYSE: TCO) over a planned merger will move to a mediation phase. Lansing, Mich. — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has signed a new executive order rescinding her stay-home order and moving the entire state to Phase IV of the “MI Safe Start Plan” in response to COVID-19.
