North Richland Hills, Texas — Merlin Entertainments, an operator based in the United Kingdom, will open a theme park in North Richland Hills, a suburb of Fort Worth, dedicated to children’s entertainment character Peppa Pig. The size of the park, which will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, themed playscapes and shows, was not disclosed. Houston, Katy and League City, Texas — Gordon Food Service will open six new stores in metro Houston, the first Texas locations for the brand. Gordon Food Service Stores provide food products, including packaged and fresh goods, to restaurant owners and other foodservice professionals. Each store will comprise between 25,000 and 30,000 square feet. Four stores will open in Houston, Katy and League City Mar. 14, with an additional two stores opening in Houston at a later date.

Magnolia, Texas — SVN | J. Beard Real Estate has begun leasing Country Forest Plaza, a 9,615-square-foot retail project located in Magnolia, about 45 miles northwest of Houston. Tenant spaces will range in size from 1,300 to 5,715 square feet. Kane Dunbar is serving as general contractor for the project, construction of which began in January and is expected to be completed during the summer.

Coppell, Forney and Fort Worth, Texas — Firehouse Subs has signed three leases totaling 4,149 square feet in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro. Firehouse will occupy 1,649 square feet at Heritage Trace in Fort Worth, 1,300 square feet at Victory at Forney in Forney and 1,200 square feet at Braewood Shopping Center in Coppell. Grant Gary and Kendall Graff of The Woodmont Co. represented Firehouse Subs in the lease negotiations.

Allen, Texas — JLL has negotiated the sale of Twin Creeks Marketplace, a 43,134-square-foot shopping center located in the northeastern Dallas suburb of Allen. Sprouts Farmers Market anchors the center, which was built in 2016 and was fully leased at the time of sale. Other tenants include Starbucks Coffee, Verizon Wireless, ATI Physical Therapy and Advancial. Chris Gerard, Adam Howells, Caroline Binning, Pauli Kerr and Cole Sutter of JLL represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction.

Dallas — Corner Bakery, a national restaurant chain based in Dallas, has filed for Chapter 11 protection in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court after defaulting on its loans last year, according to The Dallas Morning News. Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands purchased Corner Bakery, which currently operates 140 locations in 20 states, in October 2020. Prior to its acquisition by Pandya, the chain was owned by private equity firm Roark Capital Partner.

A 58,000-square-foot Tom Thumb will anchor the shopping center, which is situated within the 600-acre, master-planned Lexington development. Natuzzi, a luxury Italian furniture brand, will open a 6,393-square-foot showroom; and Hi, skin — a skincare concept — will occupy a 2,261-square-foot space. MCS will offer the core interior maintenance services that CSM is known for, with a platform marketed as Chain Store Maintenance — an MCS Company.
