Brentwood, Tenn. — Developments to be part of GBT’s net lease division.
The Academy Sports + Outdoors in Smyrna, Tenn., will be 72,000 feet. It’s expected to open this fall.Brentwood, Tenn. — GBT Realty Corporation has purchased properties in Smyrna, Tenn., and Mobile, Ala., to develop Academy Sports + Outdoors, an outdoor, sports and lifestyle retailer with approximately 135 stores in the Southeast.
The Smyrna property is on 9.25 acres, where GBT has begun construction of the 72,000-square-foot store that will open this fall. A regional power center neighbors the property, and it is anchored by Target, Kohl’s, Ross Dress for Less and Malco Cinema.
In Mobile, the 17.5-acre Westgate Pavilion Property also includes three outparcels of 1.1 acres each. Construction has also begun at this site, and the store is expected to open in November. The development team partnering with GBT includes Gresham Smith and Partners and Seeberger Architecture. The engineering and architecture firms are working on both projects. The general contractor for Smyrna is Stewart Perry Construction, and in Mobile, Fulcrum Construction serves as general contractor.
