Pittsburgh — Dick’s Sporting Goods plans to open a specialty running retail store, True Runner, in Pittsburgh later this summer.
Pittsburgh — Dick’s Sporting Goods, the largest U.S.-based full-line sporting goods retailer, plans to open a specialty running retail store, True Runner. The new store, located on Walnut Street in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, will cater to running enthusiasts with best-in-class footwear, apparel, accessories and expertise. The store is expected to open later this summer.
“We’re excited to announce our new retail model, True Runner, which will outfit local runners with the best running apparel, footwear and equipment,” says Joe Schmidt, president and COO, Dick’s Sporting Goods.
True Runner is being created specifically for runners by runners and the in-store experience will continue to evolve based on the feedback and input of customers.
Dick’s Sporting Goods, Inc. also owns and operates Golf Galaxy, LLC, a golf specialty retailer. As of April 28, 2012, the company operated more than 480 Dick’s Sporting Goods stores in 44 states, more than 80 Golf Galaxy stores in 30 states, and e-commerce websites and catalog operations.
