Del Mar, Calif. — Flower Hill Promenade Shopping Center, an open-air lifestyle and entertainment project located off the I-5 in Del Mar, has undergone a $30 million renovation. Owner Protea Properties added 70,000 square feet of new space, including a 30,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market and a 29,364-square-foot Sharp Rees Stealy Medical Office. The shopping center also welcomed new tenants such as Cucina Enoteca, Lone Flag, Yogurtland, Melero Boutique, Planet Beauty and Sun Diego. The property is known among locals for its eclectic mix of local and national brands. Smith Consulting Architects and SGPA Architecture and Planning provided architectural services.
