San Jose, Calif. — $13 million makeover will wrap summer 2013.
San Jose, Calif. — Federal Realty Investment Trust will be updating its Westgate Mall with a $13 million renovation that will incorporate several green features into the 52-year-old, 645,000-square-foot shopping center as well as new interior plans such as a new food court at the front door of the mall, a children’s soft play area and several common areas with new flooring and lighting throughout.
After the renovations are complete, the mall will be renamed Westgate Center. Federal Realty has owned the center since 2004. It will remain open during the renovations.
LPA, Inc. is the renovation architect and April Philips Design Works will lead the landscape architecture design. The renovation plans will include all new monument signs at site entrances with lighting and landscaping, and an enhanced central plaza with café tables, fountains and landscaping.
