Santa Monica, Calif. — Related California breaks ground on $350 million mixed-use development, containing apartments, retail and restaurants.
Santa Monica, Calif. — Related California has broken ground on The Village at Santa Monica, a $350 million mixed-use project in downtown Santa Monica. The project will contain 158 luxury condominiums, 160 apartments, 20,000 square feet of retail and restaurants, and walkable
plazas and gardens. It is the first major residential development to be built on Ocean Avenue in two decades. Moore Ruble Yudell is the lead architect; Koning Eizenberg Architecture is the architect of the apartments. Construction financing is being provided by Wells Fargo and HSBC. The Resmark Companies is partnering with Related on the luxury condominiums, while the Community Corporation of Santa Monica is partnering on the 160 apartments, which will be affordable housing units.The project is scheduled for completion in January 2014.
