Jericho, N.Y. — Kimco Realty (NYSE: KIM), a retail and mixed-use real estate REIT based in Jericho, has acquired a portfolio of eight shopping centers on Long Island. Kabro Associates, a privately held owner based in Woodbury, N.Y., sold the portfolio to Kimco for $375.8 million. Each of the eight retail centers, five of which are grocery-anchored, are located within a 15-minute drive of the Kimco corporate headquarters in Jericho. Newport Beach, Calif. — SRS Real Estate Partners has arranged the sale of 14 single-tenant retail properties occupied KinderCare Learning Centers. The buildings sold in separate transactions totaling $60 million. The KinderCare Centers are located in Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, Iowa, Nebraska and Michigan. Chad Lieber of Newport Beach, California-based SRS represented the undisclosed sellers. Private investors acquired the properties, which range in size from 10,000 to 13,000 square feet. A majority of the transactions were 1031 exchanges and approximately half were all-cash.
Webster, N.Y. — Horvath & Tremblay has arranged the sale of Webster Plaza, a 154,991-square-foot retail center located in Webster, approximately 10 miles northeast of Rochester. Bob Horvath, Todd Tremblay and Jeremy Black of Horvath & Tremblay represented the undisclosed seller in the $18.6 million transaction. Tenants at the center, which is anchored by Savers, include a public library, Pet Supplies Plus, Starbucks Coffee, Subway, Fed-Ex, Yolickity, KeyBank, Bank of America and Burger King. KeyBank, Bank of America and Burger King occupy freestanding single-tenant buildings at the property.
Emerald Isle, N.C. — JLL has arranged the sale of Emerald Plantation Shopping Center, a 102,539-square-foot retail center located in Emerald Isle on the coast of North Carolina. Tom Kolarczyk of JLL represented the seller, Cameron Street Partners, in the $12 million transaction. Charlie Barzola of Eastern Commercial represented the undisclosed buyer. Built in 2018, the center was fully leased at the time of sale to tenants including Starbucks Coffee, East Coast Wings and Nothing Bundt Cakes. The Charles and Margaret Levin Family LP based in Washington, D.C., purchased the property from Riverbend Development. Current tenants include Great Clips, Banner Urgent Care, Native Grill & Wings, Over Easy and Villa Tuscana, a reception hall for weddings and other large events.
