Berlin, Vt. – The expansion increased the store footprint by 26,200 square feet to more than 93,000 square feet.
Vermont’s first Walmart Supercenter has opened at the Berlin Mall. The opening is the result of a 26,200-square-foot expansion that brings the store’s footprint to more than 93,000 square feet. The expansion was begun in December of 2013; the primary new feature is a supermarket. The expansion is just one of the improvements made by the mall owners since they acquired the mall in 2010. In addition to the construction of a Kohl’s that is underway, Optical Expressions, Maurice’s, Olympia Sports and Verizon have all successfully expanded their stores in the Berlin Mall. The Berlin Mall will now try to fill a 15,000-square-foot junior anchor space in the center of the mall.
