West Palm Beach, Fla. — JLL Capital Markets has arranged $84.2 million in senior construction financing for the first phase of the Nora District, a mixed-use redevelopment project in West Palm Beach. Bank OZK provided the financing to the borrower, a joint venture between NDT Development, Place Projects, Wheelock Street Capital and BD Hotels. Fairfax, Va. — Federal Realty Investment Trust has announced plans to renovate Pan Am Shopping Center, a 228,000-square-foot retail center located in Fairfax. Scheduled to begin later this month, the project will include new paint, canopy ceiling and lighting, façade upgrades and the addition of two trellis features with new furniture, landscaping and signage. Federal Realty acquired the property, which was originally built in 1979, in 1993. Tenants at the center include Safeway, Microcenter, Michaels, Glory Days Grill, L’Image Beauty, Starbucks Coffee and CVS/pharmacy.

Perris, Calif. — BWE has arranged $66.5 million in construction financing for a new phase of development at Plaza de Perris, a retail center located in Perris. Upon completion, the property will span 363,582 square feet and feature a Target location. Wood Investments, the borrower and developer, purchased the center in 2017 and previously completed the addition of 118,000 square feet of retail space at the property in 2019 and 2020. Venice, Fla. — Benderson Development has acquired a 51.5-acre parcel in Venice, Florida, with plans to develop a ground-up mixed-use project at the site. The property has been dubbed North River Marketplace during preliminary master planning. Benderson also owns the nearby retail properties Jacaranda Plaza and Cocoplum Village Shops.

Queen Creek, Ariz. — Development firm Creation is set to break ground on The Switchyard, a $120 million mixed-use development located at the northeast corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads in the Phoenix suburb of Queen Creek.  Plans for the 10-acre project include the development of 54,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, residential and office space.
