Atlanta — Five new tenants have signed leases at High Street, a $2 billion mixed-use district currently underway in Atlanta. The retailers will open within the first phase of the development, which will comprise 150,000 square feet of retail space. Eatertainment concept Jaguar Bolera will occupy 21,500 square feet, and restaurants Nando’s PERi-PERi and Velvet Taco will occupy 3,300 and 2,300 square feet, respectively. Cheshire, Conn. — Regency Centers has acquired land in Cheshire, with plans to develop a 152,000-square-foot retail center at the site. Dubbed Cheshire Crossing, the property will comprise the retail component of the master-planned Stone Bridge Crossing community. Whole Foods Market will anchor the center, which will also feature a 23,000-square-foot T.J. Maxx, 18,000 square feet of junior anchor space, five outparcels and 38,000 square feet of inline shop space.

Atlanta — Atlanta-based cheeseburger concept Smalls Sliders has expanded, with 200 total restaurants now open or under development. The brand currently has stores, referred to as “Cans,” operating across Louisiana and Mississippi, with openings scheduled in 13 states throughout the Southeast and Midwest. “We look forward to continuing this path of growth, and hopefully announcing our next milestone of 300 Cans under development very soon,” says Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders.

Upon full build-out, the cost of the project, which features office, retail, hotel and research and development space, is expected to total $1.2 billion. Yuma, Ariz. — Sprouts Farmers Market will open a 23,228-square-foot store in Yuma, marking the second location in the city for the Phoenix-based grocer. In addition to the Yuma Foothills Sprouts store, the property will feature an additional 11,250 square feet of attached, inline retail space. The Spencer Cos. is the landlord and project developer. Regan Amato of JLL’s Phoenix office represented Sprouts in the lease negotiations, and Thomas J. Pancrazi of A.T. Pancrazi Real Estate Services represented The Spencer Cos. A construction timeline was not disclosed.

Franchisee Ryan McGrail will own and operate the stores, which will be located in Orlando, Sarasota and Tampa. Sip Fresh also recently signed multi-unit deals throughout California.

Expansion plans call for new locations in key cities such as Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami and San Antonio, among others, to establish a coast-to-coast network. Including this redevelopment, Federal Realty’s investment in the shopping center will total roughly $170 million, with 190,000 square feet of retail space. Fayetteville, Ark. — Arkansas-based Slim Chickens has signed a franchise deal for seven new restaurants in the state of Maryland. Franchisee DDR Holdings, a venture between Darrin and Dennis Atlas, will open the units. DDR Holdings currently owns and operates two Slim Chickens stores in the state. The Slim Chickens brand has opened in more than 255 locations across the U.S. and the U.K., with more than 1,200 stores currently in development.
