Peachtree Corners, Ga. — North American Properties (NAP) has partnered with Nuveen Real Estate to begin the redevelopment of The Forum Peachtree Corners. The partnership, which acquired the shopping center in March 2022, plans to deliver the redevelopment in phases, beginning with retail- and pedestrian-focused upgrades. Upon completion, the project will include a 125-room boutique hotel, 381 apartments, experiential retailers, eateries, structured parking and new public spaces. In addition to these uses, the developers will implement concierge services and valet offerings.

RockRun-Collection-Joliet-Ill

Joliet, Ill. — Cullinan Properties has rebranded Rock Run Crossings in the Chicago suburb of Joliet to RockRun Collection. Construction is underway at the property, which will feature retail, restaurant, entertainment and healthcare space, in addition to multifamily residences. The rebranding also includes changes to the development’s logo, leasing collateral, website and development visuals.

Five-Below-Central-Vermont-Marketplace-Berlin-Vt

Berlin, Vt. — Heidenberg Properties Group has rebranded Berlin Mall as Central Vermont Marketplace in Berlin. This comes as part of the property’s transition to a mixed-use development, which included the opening of Chesnut Place, a 98-unit senior living facility. Heidenberg has also added two new retailers, which occupy a total of 60,000 square feet. Five Below opened a store at the property in February and Hobby Lobby took over the former JC Penney anchor space in April. Oklahoma City— The Medallion Group has broken ground on The Stacks, a 34,000-square-foot retail project in Oklahoma City. Tenants that have committed to the development include Mediterranean restaurant Cava, fast-casual eatery Pickleman’s and locally based food-and-beverage concept The Surf Bar. Additional retail and medical users will be announced later this year. The Stacks is scheduled to open in the first half of 2024.

Upon completion, the property will comprise 6,500 square feet. Dunkin’ Donuts will anchor the center. Louisville, Ky. — Brookfield Properties has completed a 30,000-square-foot addition and renovations to Oxmoor Center, a regional mall in east Louisville. The project, which also included the addition of 27 acres of surface parking, is the redevelopment of a big box space formerly occupied by Sears. Topgolf recently opened within the space, which features room for nine additional tenants. Big Bear Lake, Calif. — Wood Investments Cos. has purchased a former Kmart building in Big Bear Lake, with plans to develop an 80,000-square-foot shopping center. Upon completion, Big Bear Lake Shopping Centerwill be subdivided into three individual anchor suites. A 17,193-square-foot Grocery Outlet will anchor the property. Another retailer has signed a 23,228-square-foot lease at the property, and a third tenant is in negotiations to lease a 23,228-square-foot space. Miami —BH3 Management and Merrimac Ventures have acquired development rights for a 10.7-acre site on Watson Island, an island within Miami city limits. The land is owned by the City of Miami and fronts Biscayne Bay midway between downtown Miami and Miami Beach. Alex Zylberglait of Marcus & Millichap brokered the transaction.
