Vernon Hills, Ill. — Dallas-based real estate firm Centennial has revealed plans to expand on its Hawthorn 2.0 redevelopment of Hawthorn Mall, a super-regional shopping center in Vernon Hills, a northern suburb of Chicago. Built in 1973, the mall currently houses over 120 retailers. Centennial first announced the redevelopment of Hawthorn Mall in 2019, which included new retail and dining options, luxury multifamily housing and indoor/outdoor gathering spaces. Cranston, R.I. — Topgolf will open a 68,000-square-foot venue at 100 Sockanosset Cross Road in Cranston, approximately 5 miles outside of Providence. Carpionato Group owns the site and is leading development of the multi-level facility, which will be the first in Rhode Island for the Dallas-based entertainment concept. Rock Hill, Mo. — Echelon Constructors is underway on the buildout of a new Foss Swim School at the Market at McKnight retail center in Rock Hill, a western suburb of St. Louis. A 50,000-square-foot Cottonwood Market anchors the center. Other tenants include Jason’s Deli, Little Caesars and McDonald’s. Weitzman upgraded various aesthetic components and amenity spaces at Dal Rich Towne Square, which was originally built in 1965, and implemented a new digital marketing program for the center and individual tenants.
