Escondido, Calif. — Bridge Group Investments and Steerpoint Capital have acquired North County Mall in Escondido, about 30 miles north of San Diego. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) was the seller, according to the Escondido Times-Advocate. The sales price was undisclosed. Situated on almost 83 acres, North County Mall totals nearly 1.3 million square feet. Westlake, Fla. —Konover South has broken ground on Shoppes of Westlake Landings in Westlake, in the southeastern part of the state. Upon completion, the 23,000-square-foot development will comprise two multi-tenant shopping centers and a pod of quick-service restaurants. Konover acquired the property from Minto Communities in 2021. MEC Construction is serving as general contractor. Gainesville, Ga. — Branch Properties has acquired 14 acres for the construction of Limestone Marketplace in Gainesville, roughly 55 miles northeast of Atlanta. Upon completion, the shopping center will comprise 76,764 square feet and feature a 54,964-square-foot Publix. The property will also include three outparcels ranging in size from one to three acres. Branch will break ground on the development in spring of this year, with completion of construction scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.

Comprising 20,700 square feet, construction on the project is scheduled to begin this spring. Next Level Urgent Care will open a 3,000-square-foot location at the property, and dental practice Smile Professionals will lease a 2,500-square-foot space.
