Armada Hoffler to Break Ground on $110 Million Southern Post Mixed-Use Project in Metro Atlanta

Roswell, Ga. — Armada Hoffler Properties Inc. plans to break ground in the fourth quarter on Southern Post, a 260,000-square-foot mixed-use development in downtown Roswell, roughly 22 miles north of Atlanta. Construction is slated for initial completion in summer 2023. The development cost for the project is expected to be approximately $110 million. Located at 1023 Alpharetta St., Southern Post will include 128 apartments, nine townhomes, 95,000 square feet of creative loft office space, 40,000 square feet of retail space and 600 parking spaces with a parking deck. Castroville, Texas — Merit Commercial Real Estate has broken ground on Alsatian Oaks, a 435-acre, master-planned community in Castroville, a town adjacent to San Antonio. The project represents an investment of more than $500 million. When complete, Alsatian Oaks will include 950 homes, an amenity center, parks, bike trails and more than 400,000 square feet of restaurants, retail and medical office space. Christenbury Investors — an entity affiliated with MPV Properties and Mission Properties — is the developer of the 17-acre project. Washington, D.C. — Wegmans Food Markets is set to open its first store in Northwest Washington, D.C. The new location will open within the $640 million City Ridge project by Roadside Development and North America Sekisui House, which includes commercial, residential and retail space.
