Comstock Signs Puttshack to Lease at Reston Station Mixed-Use Project in Northern Virginia

Reston, Va. — Comstock Holding Cos. Inc. has signed mini-golf entertainment concept Puttshack to anchor Phase II of Reston Station, an 80-acre mixed-use project underway in Northern Virginia. Located near the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station at 1850 Reston Row Plaza in Reston, Puttshack will be the project’s first active entertainment venue when it opens in summer 2025. The more than 29,000-square-foot space will feature four nine-hole mini-golf courses equipped with the company’s proprietary Trackaball technology, which keeps track of patron scores as they play. Topgolf to Open 68,000-Square-Foot Entertainment Venue in Cranston, Rhode Island

Cranston, R.I. — Topgolf will open a 68,000-square-foot venue at 100 Sockanosset Cross Road in Cranston, approximately 5 miles outside of Providence. Carpionato Group owns the site and is leading development of the multi-level facility, which will be the first in Rhode Island for the Dallas-based entertainment concept. Construction is underway and expected to be complete before the end of 2023.

Naperville, Ill. — Newcastle Properties is set to begin construction on an 8,300-square-foot, multi-tenant outlot building and a 3,260-square-foot endcap space at Eastgate Crossing in the Chicago suburb of Naperville. The new development will be home to Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and NaanSense, an Indian fast-casual chain. Located within the firm’s 670,000-square-foot Glenpointe campus, Marketplace has already received commitments from concepts such as kosher deli Ma’adan, Colombian coffee shop Coffeecol, French-inspired Balthazar Bakery and ice cream maker Sip N Swirl. Richardson, Texas — Weitzman has completed the renovation of Dal-Rich Towne Square, a 162,925-square-foot retail center located in the northeastern Dallas suburb of Richardson. A 50,000-square-foot Cottonwood Market anchors the center. Other tenants include Jason’s Deli, Little Caesars and McDonald’s. Weitzman upgraded various aesthetic components and amenity spaces at Dal Rich Towne Square, which was originally built in 1965, and implemented a new digital marketing program for the center and individual tenants.

Birdsmouth Beer to Open 12,080-Square-Foot Brewery in Oceanport, New Jersey

Oceanport, N.J. — Birdsmouth Beer will open a 12,080-square-foot brewery in the coastal New Jersey community of Oceanport on Saturday, Oct. 15. The craft beer provider will operate out of The Commissary, a 53,000-square-foot food hall that is part of the redevelopment of the former Fort Monmouth military base. Gary Krauss of Pierson Commercial represented Birdsmouth Beer in the lease negotiations. Suzanne Macknow of CBRE represented the owner, Denholtz Properties, which also recently inked a 19,567-square-foot lease with MGT Foods.

PENN Entertainment to Build $185 Million Casino at Rock Run Crossings in Metro Chicago

Joliet, Ill. — PENN Entertainment has unveiled plans to build Hollywood Casino Joliet at the Rock Run Crossings development in Joliet, roughly 35 miles southwest of Chicago. Construction is expected to begin in late 2023, subject to local regulatory approval. The project has an estimated budget of $185 million and will combine gaming, dining and 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The land-based casino will replace PENN’s riverboat casino in Joliet. Cullinan Properties owns Rock Run Crossings, which spans 310 acres and 1 million square feet.
