Waco, Texas — Dallas-based sports entertainment company Topgolf has signed a lease at Cottonwood Creek Market, a 285,000-square-foot entertainment destination in Waco that is scheduled to open this winter. Topgolf joins Cinemark, which will open a 14-screen theater, as the second of three entertainment anchors at Cottonwood Creek Market. Houston-based developer NewQuest Properties commenced site work on the project last summer and is in talks with a bowling and dining concept to potentially serve as the third anchor. Holtsville, N.Y. — Dallas-based sports and entertainment company Topgolf will open a $25 million driving range and restaurant facility in Holtsville, a city located on the eastern part of Long Island. The facility will feature three levels of entertainment and dining space on a 26.6-acre site. The facility will be Topgolf’s first venue in New York and is expected to bring 500 new full-time jobs to the state. Construction is slated for completion in early 2021.

Wheeling, Ill. — CMX CinéBistro is set to open at Wheeling Town Center on Friday, Feb. 14 in suburban Chicago. The movie theater anchors the retail portion of the mixed-use project. Spanning 40,000 square feet CMX CinéBistro Wheeling will offer a bar and lounge area, seven screens, reclining seats and tables for food and beverage service. League City, Texas — Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will open a 10-screen movie theater within the Victory Lakes shopping center in League City, a southeastern suburb of Houston, in late 2020. The theater will feature oversized recliners, made-from-scratch food and a standalone lobby with more than 40 local and regional craft beers. The new Alamo Drafthouse will be the company’s first venue in the Houston area since Alamo Drafthouse LaCenterra opened in Katy in 2018.

Charlotte, N.C. — Topgolf Entertainment Group will open its second Topgolf venue in Charlotte by the end of the year. The new location will be dubbed Topgolf North Charlotte and will be situated at the intersection of Interstate 85 and University City, near University of North Carolina-Charlotte, Charlotte Motor Speedway and Northlake Mall. Topgolf North Charlotte will sit on 14 acres and is expected to create 500 jobs. Topgolf opened its first Charlotte venue two years ago at 8024 Savoy Corporate Drive in the southwestern part of the city.

Cleveland and North Randall, Ohio — VICI Properties Inc. (NYSE: VICI) has completed the acquisition of JACK Cleveland Casino and JACK Thistledown Racino for approximately $843.3 million. The company financed the transaction with cash on hand. JACK Cleveland Casino opened in May 2012 in the historic Higbee Building in downtown Cleveland. The property features approximately 96,000 square feet of gaming space, 1,300 gaming machines, 120 table games and eight food and beverage outlets. Glen Allen, Va. — VCC Partners LLC and Shamin VCC LLC have acquired a 109,813-square-foot former Macy’s within Virginia Commons Mall in Glen Allen for $2 million. The buyers plan to demolish the existing building and redevelop the nine-acre property into a sports arena that will include indoor event space, basketball courts and seating for 4,500 spectators. Demolition will begin by May. David Kalman of S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. represented the seller, Impact Investments Group LLC, in the transaction.

Fayetteville, N.C. — CBL Properties has unveiled redevelopment plans for Phase I of the former Sears department store within Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville. New-to-market Dave & Buster’s will occupy and operate the space, which is under construction.
