Plainfield, Ind. — Axe-throwing entertainment concept LumberjAXE has signed a 5,013-square-foot lease at The Shops at Perry Crossing, a retail center located in Plainfield, roughly 20 miles outside Indianapolis. Upon completion, the venue will feature 11 total axe-throwing lanes, a children’s target, VIP room, pool table, digital dart boards and touch tunes. JLL manages the property.

Alexandria, Va. — A partnership between developer JBG Smith (NYSE: JBGS) and Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) has unveiled plans to build a mixed-use entertainment district totaling approximately 9 million square feet in Alexandria, just south of Washington, D.C. Experiential concept Sloomoo Institute now occupies 23,000 square feet at the development, marking the fourth flagship venue in the country for the brand. Washington, D.C. — Eatertainment operator State of Play has announced plans to open an 8,546-square-foot Flight Club darts venue in Washington, D.C. Scheduled to open summer 2024 and marking the 13th location for the brand, Flight Club D.C. will be situated within 655 New York, a 756,000-square-foot mixed-use development. Other tenants at 655 New York, which features 79,000 square feet of retail space, include Rumi’s Kitchen, Capital Burger, Pearl’s Bagels, Kinship, Metier and Compass Coffee.

Mobile, Ala. — Topgolf has opened a new venue in Mobile, Alabama, marking the third in the state for the brand. Situated within McGowan Park Shopping Center, the venue features 60 outdoor, climate-controlled hitting bays across two levels, as well as a full-service restaurant, 22-foot video wall and more than 100 TVs. According to the company, Topgolf Mobile will employ roughly 200 associates and is the 95th outdoor Topgolf venue in the country.

Oceanport, N. J. — Baseline Social, a bar, restaurant and entertainment concept, has opened a 17,100-square-foot venue in Oceanport. Situated within The Commissary at Baseline, the space features a 640-foot LED viewing wall, 38-seat platform lounge and 3,700-square-foot entertainment section with five virtual golf bays. Other tenants at the property include Birdsmouth Beer and MGT Foods. Denholtz Properties is the developer and landlord at The Commissary.

Alpharetta, Ga. — X-Golf has opened a 6,800-square-foot golf simulator and sports bar venue at RocaPoint Partners’ $500 million Halcyon development in Alpharetta. Halcyon comprises 135 acres of mixed-use space roughly 30 miles northeast of Atlanta. X-Golf occupies space on the ground-floor of Halcyon Grand, an apartment community located within the development. X-Golf’s venue features seven bays for group golf simulation, as well as a full bar serving beer, cocktails and appetizers. JLL represented RocaPoint in lease negotiations.

Houston — Activate, an interactive indoor gaming experience, has opened a 9,600-square-foot venue in Houston. Situated within the Katy Fry Center, the space features 11 activity rooms with more than 500 different games and difficulty levels. The brand, which is designed for adult participants, currently has seven additional centers in Atlanta; Chicago; Dallas; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; American Dream, New Jersey; and Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky. Additional venues are scheduled to open this year, including in Birmingham, Alabama.
