Thurber-Village_Luckys-Market

Columbus, Ohio — Lucky’s Market will join the tenant lineup at Thurber Village, a shopping center in Columbus undergoing redevelopment to include both retail and residential space. Lucky’s, a family-owned independent grocery store, will offer a mix of natural foods, fruits and vegetables. CASTO has owned Thurber Village since 2005. Redevelopment plans call for a 13,000-square-foot CVS/pharmacy store, a 21,000-square-foot Lucky’s store and 225 apartment units. The new CVS store will replace an existing CVS location. Construction is expected to begin this fall.

Richmond, Va. — Planet Fitness has leased 17,476 square feet at Stony Point Village, a 114,422-square-foot shopping center located at 3000-3096 Stony Point Road in Richmond. The fitness chain expects to open the new location, its fifth in the Richmond market, this winter. Nicki Jassy of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer represented Planet Fitness in the lease negotiations. Del Rio, Texas — Levcor has welcomed a quintet of new tenants to Plaza Del Sol, a shopping and dining destination in Del Rio, located west of San Antonio near the Texas-Mexico border. Retailers Ulta Beauty and Burlington have respectively committed to 5,789 and 36,258-square-foot spaces, and the former’s store is now officially open. Food-and-beverage users that have joined the tenant roster include McAlister’s Deli (2,882 square feet), Papa John’s (1,432 square feet) and Arby’s (2,252 square feet).

Cherry Hill, N.J. — Three new tenants are set to open at Ellisburg Shopping Center, a retail property developed by Federal Realty Investment Trust in Cherry Hill. New openings are set to include a 14,346-square-foot Wren Kitchens, set to open this winter; a 8,564-square-foot Adventure Kids Playcare, scheduled to open this fall; and a 3,000-square-foot BurgerFi restaurant, which will open on Sept. 7. Additional tenants at the center include Whole Foods Market, Buy Buy Baby and Restoration Hardware.

Moncks Corner, S.C. — Branch Properties has added new retailers and restaurants to the tenant lineup at Moncks Corner Marketplace, a Publix-anchored shopping center in the Charleston suburb of Moncks Corner. Branch Properties co-lists the 75,267-square-foot center with Hannah Kamba and Tim Rowley of Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic. Set to open at the corner of U.S. Highway 52 and Cypress Gardens Road later this summer, the shopping center’s 48,387-square-foot Publix store will feature a covered outdoor café on the second floor. Cherry Hill, N.J. — Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT) has welcomed several new tenants to Cherry Hill Mall in metro Philadelphia. Apparel brands Psycho Bunny and Levi’s have signed leases for 2,390 and 3,000 square feet with plans to open in mid-2023 and late 2022, respectively. Pittsburgh — Whole Foods Market has opened a 54,667-square-foot store at 5700 Penn Ave. in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood. The store will feature full-service meat and seafood counters, an artisanal cheesemaking department, coffee bar, prepared foods section and a selection of more than 250 craft beers and 700 wines. The store, which is a relocation of a market at 5880 Centre Ave. that served the community for more than 20 years, officially opened on Wednesday, Aug. 10.

IT'SUGAR-Times-Square

New York City — IT’SUGAR has opened a 20,335-square-foot pop-up candy department store in New York City’s Times Square. The two-story location was previously occupied by Modell’s. The store is the company’s second largest pop-up to-date, featuring over 35 licensed candy brands, retro and international candies and TikTok-trending treats. The location also features a lollipop garden. Terms of the Times Square lease were not disclosed, but IT’SUGAR pop-ups tend to occupy spaces between 13 and 36 months.
