Jacksonville, Fla. — Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. has acquired Maple Street Biscuit Co. for $36 million in an all-cash deal. Maple Street’s portfolio comprised 28 company-owned and five franchise-owned restaurants in seven states at the time of sale. The company plans to convert its Holler & Dash Biscuit House into Maple Street Biscuit locations. Scott Moore and Gus Johnson founded Maple Street in Jacksonville in 2012. Moore will stay on as CEO and will report to Sandra Cochran, president and CEO of Cracker Barrel.
Tricera Capital Breaks Ground on 265,000-Square-Foot Retail, Office Redevelopment Project in South Florida
West Palm Beach, Fla. — Miami-based Tricera Capital has broken ground on the redevelopment of the Palm Beach Post newspaper office campus in West Palm Beach. The project, named The Press, will add 125,000 square feet of new retail space and 140,000 square feet of refurbished office space to the market. The project began with the demolition of a two-story office building and bridge. The development team, which acquired the 11-acre site in February 2019, will preserve most of the remaining structures, including those that housed the Post’s original office building and printing press. …

The two properties are Burnt Store Marketplace in Punta Gorda and Lightfoot Marketplace in Williamsburg. Branch Properties acquired the 95,625-square-foot Burnt Store Marketplace for $17 million.
