Charlotte, N.C. — Providence Group Capital (PGC) has purchased 1420 South Mint Street in the South End of Charlotte. The 1.45-acre property comprises 52,000 square feet of buildings occupied by retailers and service providers. PCG will upgrade the property while continuing to manage and lease it. Providence Group Management Services will handle the day-to-day management of the property. PCG is additionally under contract to purchase three more properties in the first quarter of 2023.
New Bern, N.C. — JLL has arranged the sale of a Harris Teeter ground lease at New Bern Marketplace, a 99,839-square-foot retail center located in New Bern. Alex Sharrin, Danny Finkle, Tom Kolaczyk and Jeff Cicurel of JLL represented the sellers, Columbia Development Group and Lubert Adler. Bussel Realty represented the 1031 buyer, Central Ave. Corp. Emerald Isle, N.C. — JLL has arranged the sale of Emerald Plantation Shopping Center, a 102,539-square-foot retail center located in Emerald Isle on the coast of North Carolina. Tom Kolarczyk of JLL represented the seller, Cameron Street Partners, in the $12 million transaction. Charlie Barzola of Eastern Commercial represented the undisclosed buyer. The shopping center, which is anchored by Food Lion, was 100 percent leased at the time of sale to tenants including Michelangelo’s Pizza, Shark’s Den Bar and Grill, Rucker John’s and Elly’s.
Kyle, Texas and Zebulon, N.C. — Northmarq has secured financing for the acquisition of Plum Creek Village and Zebulon Crossing, two retail centers located in Texas and North Carolina. Ory Schwartz of Northmarq arranged the two loans, totaling $9.3 million, through a life insurance company on behalf of an undisclosed individual investor. New additions include Yuliya’s Ice Cream, a locally based, woman-owned ice cream company founded by Belarusian immigrant Yuliya Shvinhelskaya.
