The properties include Fairfax Towne Center in Fairfax, Virginia; Presidential Commons in Snellville, Georgia; and Village at Stone Oak in San Antonio. Richmond, Va. — Cushman & Wakefield has brokered the sale of White Oak Village Center, a 397,605-square-foot shopping center located in Richmond. Triple BAR White Oak acquired the property, which was 94 percent leased at the time of sale, from an undisclosed seller. Publix, Michaels, PetSmart and JCPenney anchor the center. John Owendoff and Catharine Spangler of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller in the transaction.
Winchester, Va. — Continental Realty Corp. (CRC) has acquired Creekside Station, a 126,304-square-foot retail center in Winchester. Creekside Properties sold the center for $19.5 million. CRC, which was self-represented in the transaction, purchased the property with funds from the Continental Realty Opportunistic Retail Fund I LP (CRORF), marking the second acquisition in the state this year for the buyer. Richmond, Va. — LL Flooring (NYSE: LL), a specialty flooring retailer, has commenced voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The Richmond, Virginia-based company, which operates more than 300 stores, will also be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange. The company plans to use the Chapter 11 proceedings to pursue a “going concern sale” of its business, meaning that a buyer could continue business upon acquisition. Falls Church, Va. — Chicken salad restaurant concept Chicken Salad Chick has opened a new restaurant in Falls Church, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Fairfax, Va. — Federal Realty Investment Trust has announced plans to renovate Pan Am Shopping Center, a 228,000-square-foot retail center located in Fairfax. Scheduled to begin later this month, the project will include new paint, canopy ceiling and lighting, façade upgrades and the addition of two trellis features with new furniture, landscaping and signage. Federal Realty acquired the property, which was originally built in 1979, in 1993.
