Newton, N.C. — Planet Fitness has signed an 18,000-square-foot lease in Newton, roughly 40 miles outside Charlotte. The tenant will operate in half of a space formerly occupied by Bi-Lo at Marketplace Center. Prior to the lease, the space was vacant for more than seven years. Tad Anderson of Ardor Commercial Advisors represented the landlord, RVS Realty, in the lease negotiations. Jay Hagerman of Providence Group represented Planet Fitness.

Southern Shores, N.C. —Klein Enterprises has purchased Southern Shores Marketplace, a 140,000-square-foot shopping center located in Southern Shores. Food Lion anchors the property. Other tenants include Starbucks Coffee, Verizon Wireless, CVS/pharmacy, Jersey Mike’s, OBX Optical and Coastal Rehabilitation. The seller, Aston Properties, recently redeveloped the shopping center and executed new leases with Marshalls, Rack Room Shoes and Five Below. An affiliate of Klein Enterprises purchased the property for an undisclosed price using acquisition financing from TD Bank. Berkeley Capital Advisors brokered the transaction.

Greenville, S.C. — Three new-to-market entertainment concepts have signed leases at the $1 billion mixed-use redevelopment of Greenville County Square currently underway in Greenville. Pins Mechanical will open a 24,366-square-foot space, and Fairway Social and Agave Bandido will occupy 9,100 and 7,000 square feet at the development, respectively.
