Waxahachie, Texas — CenterPoint Commercial Properties has acquired 12 acres in Waxahachie, roughly 30 miles south of Dallas, with plans to develop the Village at Soma Creek. The project forms a portion of a 22-acre retail component that is part of a larger 76.7-acre master-planned development in Ellis County.
CenterPoint plans to develop the property with a mix of national and regional retailers, restaurants and service-oriented uses, incorporating a combination of pad sites, ground leases and build-to-suit opportunities. The company is already negotiating terms with several national tenants for locations within the development. The project is expected to break ground in the third quarter of 2027.
Ari Raskas and Matthew Sheard of CenterPoint Commercial Capital, CenterPoint’s recently launched nationwide debt and equity placement platform, arranged financing for the acquisition.
